A/N: Hey everyone. Another oneshot here for you to read. I thought Moniwa needed more love so I hope you enjoy it.
"(F/N). Can you put these books back on the shelves over there? I'm going on my break."
Engrossed, absorbed and almost in a trance, you were transported back to reality when you heard your colleague slam a tower of conversational encyclopedias on the main desk, shaking the computer monitors sitting underneath.
"Didn't we have a break a few minutes ago?"
"Yes. Yes, we did but now I'm taking another personal one." You watched her head towards the back room and close the door swiftly. Setting your book down, you juggled the heavy encyclopedias on your body and walked over to the tall shelves next to the entrance.
You worked at the local library for about 5 months now and other than your ignorant co-workers, you quite enjoyed being in a place where being quiet was expected. You were going to college in a year and you thought that getting some work experience would help you become more confident and independent.
The library seemed like the perfect place to read, wonder and sneak in great evening naps, acknowledging the fact your shift started after school.
However, you found yourself not coming for the sweet aroma of printed paper but rather by something else.
Or more accurately someone else.
Exam season started and the library was always filled with students, head in their textbooks and flicking through their flashcards. Some would study in lonely tranquility, earphones plugged in and set up a ray of assorted pens on the circular table, ready to be used; others would band together in a group and use the whiteboards to create fun ways to learn such as competitive quizzes and making posters.
Either way, the quietness that you loved about the library temporary disappeared.
You didn't complain though.
The reason for that being your mind was recently occupied by a certain third-year you've seen around school.
Row after row of neatly lined up books with their spines facing outwards, caller coded with dashes and dots, you pushed them against each other to create a gap to place in the borrowed encyclopedias. Hearing a slight shuffling from next to you, you peered over to see a familiar black-haired, damaging though the books; his fingers tickling the spines as he reads them and makes his judgment.
You turned back and bit your lip.
This was the first time you've stood so close to him. You were used to admiring him from afar, peeking up from your book when he walks in with folders in his hands. He would sit quietly at the corner table next to the window where he would spend a few minutes looking outside before opening up his notebooks and gracing his fingers on the pages.
Your friends would often tease you about him, saying that you overconplicated things, to just take a chance and just talk to him.
Each time you tried, fear would fill up inside you and control your legs to sprint the other way.
There was something about him that just screamed out attraction. He looked like a calm young man but you wanted to know the grittier facts about him, convinced that he wasn't the composed person he looks like.
Granted you didn't know his name but you were passionate to get to know him.
However, today was not the day to burst that peering bubble.
Before you could walk away and avoid all types of conversation, he sighed hopelessly. "Ah, excuse me? Do you work here?"
You scrunched up your face like a used tissue and hesitantly swirled to face him again.
