-Chapter 12: The Confusion from the Mean Girl

"Huh? Do you know where they are? Why are you following me around school?" Sougo asks me and I look away from him, holding back the urge to sigh heavily. 

It isn't like I wanted to follow him around, but Geiz told me that I should so I can stay out of his way. I so wasn't going to follow Sougo on my own. I would never think about doing that at all! Nope!

I force out a laugh. "Oh, I was just hoping that you would be fine is all. You know how things are right now out here, right? Another Riders are out to destroy the world and I can't help but worry about you since you're my friend." That sounds like a reasonable and believable answer. No one can think that I'm going to fall for Sougo now. That will never happen.

"You're acting a bit odd. Is it because Woz has a woman that is into him and no one is trying to date you? It makes me kind of envious," Sougo asks and I look at him, resisting the urge to punch him in the face. Me? Jealous of Woz? "Hey, don't look at me like that! I just asked an innocent question is all."

"You knew that I wanted to punch you?" I can't believe that he knew that. Am I easy to read or something? Am I not getting something here? 

"I am pretty sure that Geiz asked you to come and follow me around school, but you did it because you wanted to do so. I don't know what it is, but I'm not bothered by you stalking me around my school at all." He looks away from me, dark eyes looking ahead. "Do you think that Kurena is worried for no reason?"

"What does she have to worry about?" I ask as we move forward, moving away from the school. "We're not some stupid kids who will fall in love and remain sweethearts until the end of our lives, Sougo." There isn't anything between us at all. 

"You seem like you think something is true about her words."

I nod my head. "Uh-huh, I do, Sougo! She is from the future."

"So, she obviously has something on you then, huh?" Sougo seems kind of doubtful about hers words, but that is understandable. He doesn't really trust Kurena. "Do you think she knows both of us in the future and just hates only one of us? Is that why she is always targeting me?"

I look at him and he turns his head, staring at me softly. "I think you did something to upset her and I did something to worry her. I don't know what makes her so interested in what I am doing with my life." If she's that worried about Sougo and Geiz being around me, I definitely have to be into one of them at some point. But which one is it?

"Do you ever wonder if she is right about you falling for either me or Geiz?" 

I look back ahead and stop. "I am curious about it," I answer.

"But you don't think of me in that way right now, right? So, there's nothing to worry about, correct?" 

I look at him and shrug my shoulders. "I have no clue, Sougo. She's the one with all the knowledge about what is going to happen to me in the future." And my future doesn't seem to promising. 

The knowledge that she has has to be important. What happens if I don't fall for either one of them? Does that change the future completely? 

"Kurena reminds me of someone, but I can't think of it. Of course, it isn't her personality that does," Sougo tells me as he moves forward, resuming his walk to his house. I follow and hook our arms together, keeping us side-by-side. 

"I am only holding onto you so I don't get lost," I tell him, reminding him that this is a friendly thing to do only. "And she does? How so?"

"Her eyes seem familiar to me. Like I've seen them some place before, but we both know that is impossible. We met her not too long ago."
