-Chapter 4: The Raging Beauty
I lean back in the chair in Sougo's dining area, which is quite nice honestly. I still can't believe that Kurena lady almost got to kill me. What happens if Geiz didn't interfere? Also, I don't get why she is blaming Sougo for anything. He's not at fault for what his possible future is yet. Only the future Sougo is. Why punish the younger version of him for something that hasn't happened yet?
"Did you give Geiz a proper thank you yet?" Sougo asks me, sounding quite curious.
I shake my head and look over at him as he looks down at the table, which has his fingers running along it. I wonder if he is worried about that woman. I don't blame him for being so if he is. Kurena seems to be scary.
"I just verbally thanked him," I answer. "I didn't really give him an actual one yet." I could have thanked him better for saving my life. Sougo would have if he could probably get over the shock of everyone trying to end his life.
"Don't forget to. I wish I didn't just stand there and do nothing," Sougo says, lifting up his head and looking me in the eyes. "I froze up, Marina."
"I don't blame you for freezing up." It isn't his fault for his natural reaction to that kind of thing. "Kurena just came out of nowhere to try and mess you up." What matters right now is that I am alive and okay.
He looks down again, sighing a little. "I need to be braver since this is probably going to happen a lot. She's not done threatening me and you're always going to be a target due to being associated with me."
"You're not wrong about that, Sougo, but we shouldn't keep dwelling on her." I'm going to keep thinking about it despite telling him not to. I mean, she nearly killed me! I just don't want Sougo to be worried for too long.
"A future king should be braver than I am."
"Kings have fears too, Sougo." In history, tons of them did. Mostly of things they didn't want to happen to their kingdom. "A good king has to think of his subjects and sometimes, they make mistakes when doing so." Everyone has their moments of weakness, whether they think so or not.
"I just am worried I won't be able to do anything if she appears again. Geiz was ready to act and I wasn't."
"Don't worry too much about it, okay? You're fine and you did nothing wrong." I don't he should be this upset about it. I'm alive and I'm going to keep going on with my life.
"I want to know more about that mysterious woman."
"I do too." I agree with Sougo on this. We need to know more about her.
"Kurena is a resistance fighter who is now acting on her own and really hates Oma Zi-O and Woz," Tsukuyomi's voice says and I turn my head to the entrance of the room as she steps into it. "He killed all her friends and she wants revenge." So, she's going to attack me in order to guilt Sougo into turning himself over? Not a bad plan.
"Hey..." I am kind of happy to see her. Kind of.
"I didn't think she would come back with us. I had no clue she could time travel too, but she is one heck of a woman. She can do almost anything as long as she puts her mind to it," she tells me, looking into my eyes with dark and mysterious eyes.
"So, you don't know how she got a time mazine?" Sougo asks.
"I have no clue and that is the honest truth. She's really something special." Tsukuyomi looks over at Sougo. "She's not going to leave you alone until you're dead or refuse to be king." Pretty sure she'll only go if he dies.
Just how bad is Sougo in the future if she wants him to be dead in this time? Sougo hasn't done anything to her yet and he's absolutely the kindest soul in the world to me right now. I stalked him and he didn't even really care. He's really a sweet guy.
