-Chapter 43: Midnight chaos 

(Marina's POV **Going to start saying who it is if I do use Kurena's POV in the chapter before. Sorry for interrupting here, but I don't want you all to be confused with things. Thanks**

I lift my head off the pillow and look over at the door as Kurena stops in front of it. She really thought she would be sneaky, huh? I am able to hear my own daughter when she sneaks into a place.

"Shit!" Kurena exclaims, cursing as she looks away. "I really thought I wouldn't make a noise."

I reach over and place my hand on my phone, grabbing it and picking it up. I bring it in front of my face and it glows, showing me the time. Okay, it is midnight and she's interrupting my beauty sleep? Wait...I'm still at Sougo's?

I drop my phone down and turn a bit, my eyes going down to Sougo's sleeping form. Okay, he's just going to sleep now? I guess he had a long day and all. And did I really sleep through everyone else getting to have dinner?

"Don't you even think about moving from your spot, Kurena," I order, my eyes going back to the doorway. "You're home way too late."

"I was going to sneak into Tsukuyomi's room and sleep, but I see that you're here and I can't do that. I only get away with that if Sougo is by himself then, huh?" 

I turn and smack Sougo on the back. "Hey, get up! Your child is being bad and staying out all night! Are you just going to sit there and take it?"

Sougo shoots up and rubs his side, making a sad face. "What did I do wrong?" he asks, sounding super cute. I'm not mad at him, just upset with Kurena for being out too long. I get that she's an adult, but she's going to be living by rules as long as she is here.

"I'm sorry, sweetie, but Kurena has been out most of the night." I look back at our daughter. "You better turn on the light in this room and get your butt over here. You're going to tell us what you were doing." I swear, she better not be hanging out with that troublesome man again!

Kurena enters the room and turns the light on, pouting. She really has Sougo's pout. She is definitely our child and a mix of both of our traits. Of course, her personality is all hers and that is completely fine. I just don't like being disobeyed by my own future child. 

"Kurena, can't you just come home at a normal time when you don't have work to do?" Sougo asks.

"Huh? You're the one being reasonable right now as a parent? This is so odd to experience." She stops pouting and raises an eyebrow. "I'm an adult, right?"

"You are, but you're still our child. It doesn't matter if that is in the future or not, okay? Listen to us when we tell you what to do," I say, answering her. "Sougo, tell her not to stay out late."

"I just did."

I turn my head and look at him, glaring. "You need to do it better."

He looks me in the eyes, mouth open a bit. "You're starting to scare me by being so motherly."

"Get used to it," I tell him and I look back at Kurena. "What were you doing out so late?"

"I went to the movies after hanging out at a bar with people. Is it a problem that I have friends here?" She crosses her arms over her chest and bats her pretty eyes. She's really trying to avoid saying names, so I know for sure it is that man that makes our lives miserable.

I move my phone and throw off my blanket. "Kurena, did I say you could hang out with Tsukasa again?"

She steps back and holds out her arms, palms facing me. "Mom, I didn't mean to stay out as long as I did. We didn't do anything dangerous when together, alright? We just went and saw a movie that had action in it, but wasn't a major action movie. It had romance and angst in it. It was my kind of movie." Of course it was.
