-Chapter 60: If I could, I would

(Nep's POV) 

I step onto the usual hangout of my Time Jacker buddies and look around. Ah, they are here still! I wonder where that boss of theirs is? I know he won't test me because he knows he cannot beat me.

Ora turns her head, staring at me coldly with her pretty eyes. "What are you doing here?" she asks me, looking slightly annoyed. What an adorable woman. "Nep, I know that is you. Answer the question."

"You noticed it this time out of all the times you've seen me?" I smirk, waving at her. "It is a pleasure to see you in person again. Now, do you want to join me for a moment and have a civil chat?"

Her eyes narrow. "Civil chat? With you?"

"Yeah, why not? I don't like you and you certainly don't like me. We're perfectly suited to have a civilized chat with each other." I think she can work something out with me. She is able to work things out with Shinji. 

"I don't think that is the case," she says, not giving me the response I want. I would torment her to get what I want, but I rather not right now. Shinji will be upset if someone harms her. "Can't you just switch back to the original owner of the body right now?" 

"I am the original owner. We're the same person basically."

"I highly doubt that." She looks away from me, looking annoyed. "What even brings you here? If I don't ask you about anything, you won't go away. You obviously want to talk and then get out of here."

"Your leader has been acting quite strange lately. I think he's up to no good and that you should keep your eyes on him." I'll be nice and help her out, but that is it. "I know you're only in it for yourself, but your goals should align with your leader's goal."

She looks back at me, staring at me in slight surprise. "You've been watching him from the shadows haven't you?" 

I nod my head. "That is correct." 

"Why?"

"Why not?" It is allowed isn't it? "There is no law against me being able to live my life following some suspicious man around Japan." 

She nods her head. "You're not wrong on that one, but it is still weird for you to be doing so. How can I trust you on that though?"

"You know that I am right about it. You know that something is up with him and you want to figure it out."

"He can freeze time on you."

"It won't work. You know it won't." It doesn't matter if they try that, it won't work on me or my sister. Heck, it won't even work on my mother. 

"It did before."

"Before I touched this." I reach into my pocket and pull out the Ridewatch. "This has the ability to negate your abilities. My mother isn't aware of that and I'm afraid I'm going to have to keep it a secret. Make sure you do the same or I'll kill you." I wink at her and slide it back into my pocket, my lips curving upwards cruelly. 

She scoffs. "You're annoying."

"And you have no good comebacks to say to me. You should really think it over and then show me what you come up with later, alright?" I hold up my arm and wave my hand. "I'm going now. I'll see you around, I guess."

"Will you be watching him still?" she asks curiously.

I drop my arm down. "Yeah, I will be. You should keep your eyes on him as well. I'm only warning you because of Shinji. It has nothing to do with me and if it were up to me, you would be dead right now."
