-Chapter 51: Don't Worry, He Returned 

(Marina's POV) 

"I'm home."

I stand up, quickly getting my butt off my own couch, and stare at the doorway as Shinji stands there. He looks at me, his eyes looking a bit tired, and I sigh heavily. He was out for a long time and I managed to convince Sougo to let me go home to wait for him. That was a difficult thing to do.

"Shinji, welcome home!" I exclaim, moving towards him and throwing my arms around him. "I missed you so much and I was so worried about you. Where were you?" 

I want to know where he was at. He was gone for so long, so I have to know. I'm his mother and he does have to answer to me. 

"I dozed off elsewhere. I don't really remember it too well, but I probably got drunk honestly," he responds, putting his arms around me in return. "Mother, did you stay up too long last night worrying about me? How about I go and make you something nice to drink?" 

I pull back a bit and stare at his pretty face. "Shinji, don't drink too much. It's bad for you." 

"I am aware that it is. I just needed a release from the stress," he replies, smiling down at me. "Mom, don't worry too much! Oh, is father at school? Maybe I should pop on over there and visit him!" 

"You can do that after you make me a drink and having something to eat with me. We need some bonding time." I am not going to let him wander off into the morning light. "Kurena is busy out and about, so we need to hang out."

He nods his head and releases his hold on me. "You can let go now, mother." 

"Alright." I remove my arms from him. "Shinji, did you see Ora the other day? She tried doing something and failed."

"She's just messing around with people is all. I'm sure she really was worried about her friend! She's the most kind and caring person I know!" Shinji exclaims, looking away from me as his smile drops. He's a bit down it seems. Did something happen?

Shinji really has high energy sometimes and then he has low energy the next. Does he drink coffee or something? I wonder what makes him the way he is. Did something happen during his childhood that I don't know about yet? His childhood must be chaotic. 

"I see..." I kind of doubt that Ora is that kind of person. She's like Tsukasa and is just plain trouble. 

Ora doesn't seem like she's truly a good person on the inside. I think she's cunning and just wants what she wants. Since Shinji isn't what she wants, she totally ignores the crap out of him when he's around her. Well, she tries to ignore the crap out of him. I doubt it actually works to do so.

"Mom, I'm going to go into the kitchen now! Bye!" 

He moves around me and I sigh heavily. He's up to something isn't he? Maybe he's in total hyperactive mode or something. Is there even a mode for something like that? Or is he just putting up a front? 

I pull out my cell phone and slide my finger on the screen, looking at Kurena's number. I press the call button and it dials. I should tell her that her brother is home so she doesn't have to worry about locating him herself. 

I put the phone up to my ear as it rings. 

"Hello?" Kurena's voice asks, sounding a bit lazy. She was probably napping or getting ready to drink an entire giant cup of coffee. "What is it, mom?" 

"Shinji is home," I say, giving her a quick answer to what the call is about. I am not going to keep her waiting for a long time to know what is going on. "If you see your father before me, please notify him of the troublemaker coming back home."
