This is a day late. Oh well.

James' pov

Adam had told me to meet him at the park close to our house at 1.

I knew there was something going on, with it being Valentine's Day and all, and just prayed that he didn't get a huge mariachi band to play for me or something.

The park itself was full of plenty of variations of couples, some new and some a bit older.

I knew exactly where to find Adam, underneath the biggest blossom tree in the park.

He was seated on a red and white checkered blanket, a basket placed next to him.

His face was enveloped in a smile once he noticed me approaching, and he stood to give me a tight hug before I sat down.

The blanket and basket gave me a fairly good idea of what was happening, but I decided to play along for Adam's sake.

"So, uh, what's going on here?"

Adam smiled before replying,

"Just thought I'd try being a sappy romantic for once. It's not everyday we get to celebrate our three year anniversary."

"Mm yes and I'm so glad we get to spend it with all the couples making out five feet away from us." I replied, indicating a pair doing just that at the tree across from us.

"Ok yea that's not great, but hey, I brought food!" Adam said, waving a banana in front of my face.

"Adam."

"Hmm?"

"Is that picnic basket full of bananas?"

"...no?"

"Are you lying?"

"No"

I gave him a stern look.

"It also has chocolate milk"

A disappointed sigh escaped my lips, but a smile spread across my face, a giggle following it shortly.

"This is why I don't let you decide on the food." I breathed out, leaning over to lightly peck Adam on the cheek.

"Hey I will have you know that potassium is very important for your body." Adam retorted back, a light blush dusting his cheeks from the contact.

"Yea, yea, you've told me before" I said, reaching into the basket to pull out a single banana and opening it to take a bite.

"So what's the plan for today?" I asked, speaking between bites.

"I was thinking we could go to the arcade in the mall, play around there for a few hours, then come back here and take a stroll around in the sunset."

"Sounds very romantic. Did you steal it from a tv show?" I asked.

"No," he replied. "I stole it from the internet."

"Ah, of course. The good old inter-web. Saving relationships since the 1980s."

Adam chuckled and began to pick up the basket and blanket as I finished my banana.

We traveled back to the car to drop off the bulky items, and hopped in to drive over to the arcade.

Deciding that the bananas and milk would probably be fine in the back of the warm car, we headed into the arcade with barely a second thought, excited to begin the games.

We started off with Pac-Man, a classic and a personal favorite. I obviously won, older video games not being Adam's strong-suit.

We played multiple car racing games, Adam winning 3 to 2, but I blame it on the fact that I just use Ubers to get everywhere.
