Warning: This chapter uses homophobic language. (But don't worry, I'm not homophobic)
"Whew! Friday fun day! How has the first week been for you guys?"
"Good," replied Marvin.
"Boring," groaned Jackie.
"Exciting!" exclaimed Poppy. "What about you, Roman?"
"My week was average since there isn't much to do yet." I clasped my hands together. "But I did come up with an idea!"
Jackie continued looking down at his food with disinterest.
"A royalty club!"
Jackie raised an eyebrow. "With you as the King?"
I nodded. "And you-" I pointed to him, "As captain of the royal guard."
"Really?" His gaze switched to me.
"Yes. Marvin's the healer, and Poppy is the royal adviser." I leaned in and added, "I can think of a few other people I want to invite, too."
Poppy slammed her hand on the table. "Who else?" She had a serious stare for a moment, then started laughing.
"I was thinking Phil can be a king from a different kingdom, Anti and Dark will be traitors to the kingdom, and Oopsie can be a maid."
Marvin nodded in agreement. "I can see it perfectly. But if other people join, what will they be?"
"They choose between a peasant, a traitor, and a maid. Or they can be apart of Phil's kingdom."
"And what if the people you choose don't want to join?" Jackie prompted.
"Well-" I started, casually examining my fingernails, "They're expendable."
Silence followed my statement as all of my friends shared a glance.
I laughed, "I'm just kidding, but it wouldn't be the end of the world." I stood. "I'm going to go talk to the other people I mentioned about it and get a club form from the office." I paused. "So wish me luck guys!"
"Luck," Poppy said.
"I wish you luck!" Marvin exclaimed.
"Yeah, yeah, just go." Jackie returned to staring at his tray.
I slipped on my backpack and walked out of the cafeteria to the office. I had to do this quickly, as there were five minutes until lunch ended.
In the office, I got one of the many club forms from the student bulletin. Then, I got a folder from my backpack, and neatly slid the sheet of paper inside.
Next was getting the recruits. My next class, drama, I had with both Phil and Oopsie.
Before class, Phil was sitting on the edge of the stage, talking with King of the Squirrels. I walked over to them, and said, "Sorry to barge in. Phil, may I speak with you for a moment?"
"Oh! Sure thing." He hopped off the stage, tripped, and nearly face planted. As he found his balance, he chuckled, "Just imagine how much that would've hurt." He turned to me. "So what'd you wanna talk about, mate?"
"I'm starting a royalty club, along with a couple of my friends. I was wondering if you wanted to be a King. Opposing me, of course."
"Me? A King? Why choose me?" Phil's confusion was understandable because although he knew a lot of people, he wasn't popular. In fact, most times Phil seemed pretty lonely.
"Well, because everyone knows you Phil, and if you put your mind to it, I'm sure you can convince some people to follow you."
"Well, okay. I'll sleep on it some. I'll get back to you by tomorrow." He turned, hoisted himself back onto the edge of the stage, and that was that.
The class had started before Oopsie got there, she entered a minute late, panting. "Sorry, Mr. Sanders, I didn't mean to be late."
"It's okay Oopsie, but we almost started without you," Responded Mr. Sanders, aka, my Dad.
We went through class as normal, and in the end, I pulled Oopsie aside and asked her, "Do you want to be apart of my Royalty club? As a maid?"
"Will I get a cute maid costume?"
"Naturally."
"Sign me up!"
Wow, I thought, That was easy. Now for the last two. I really get the feeling Dark and Anti aren't going to be kind about this.
I didn't have any classes with Dark or Anti, which I was happy about. I ended up bumping into them in the hallway after school. "Dark, Anti, can I ask you two something?" I put on my smoothest, most charming voice.
They exchanged a glance. "What do you want?" Anti sneered.
"I'm making a Royalty club and I was wondering-"
Dark cut me off, "Let me stop you right there, fairy, what makes you think we wanna be in any sort of club, with you."
"Well, I just thought I'd give it a shot-"
This time, Anti cut me off, "Well, you shouldn't have. We don't want to have anything to do with a homo that probably fucks his brothers."
Anger bubbled up inside me, insulting me was one thing, but my brothers? "Damn I wish I had my sword on me, I'd cut you two down to size, but this'll have to do." I kicked Anti in the leg, then pushed him down.
He went crashing, and Dark tried to come to his rescue. Shadows formed around him then traveled over to me.
"Child's play." I swatted the shadows off me, much to Dark's surprise. I walked up to him, got inches away from his face and whispered, "What're you gonna do now, bitch?"
He looked like he was about to speak, but at that moment, Jackie walked up behind me and sighed, "What'd they do this time?'
I exhaled, "They spewed homophobia." I back away from Dark, who seemed livid.
Jackie turned his attention to Anti, "Mom, Dad, and Marvin are gonna pissed with you when we get home."
Anti, who was now standing, replied, "How do you know? They don't know what I said."
"Unless I make you tell them. Now let's go." Jackie walked down the hallway with a very upset Anti in tow.
Dark stood there looking upset, but defeated.
And that concluded my subpar recruitment process.
Author's note: I am so sorry this chapter took so long! Anyways, here's another question for you: Should Virgil and Dark Dan become friends? Also, Ablazing Phil and Dark Dan come from the video Darkiplier vs. Antisepiceye, if anyone was wondering.
