Worth the Wait

Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan are two actors who are married for almost four years now and they've been together for nine years. They've always wanted to have a family but their work commitments prevents them to plan it. Well, they already planned it but their work pull them from what they really wanted to do.

"Babe, I'm going to work!"Pierce uttered as he rush down the stairs. Meryl went to the living room and looked at her husband.

"I cooked breakfast. You're not going to eat?"Meryl asked and Pierce looked at her.

"I'm sorry baby but they already need me."Pierce answered and Meryl just replied a half smile before heading back to the kitchen. Pierce noticed that and it made him heave a deep sigh. He headed to where his wife is and found her keeping the breakfast she cooked.

"Hey baby, are you mad?"Pierce asked.

"I thought you're going to work already?"Meryl asked without looking at him and not really answering his question.

"I was. But I cannot leave my wife like this."Pierce answered and Meryl just kept mum.

"Baby, please say something."Pierce said softly and Meryl faced him.

"Go to work. Is that what you want me to say?"Meryl asked and Pierce encircled his arms around her waist.

"No baby. Tell me what's wrong, I'll go to work late."Pierce answered and Meryl shook her head.

"Nothing's wrong."Meryl whispered and Pierce pressed his lips against her forehed.

"Please baby, tell me."Pierce said softly against her forehead.

"Do you really want to know?"Meryl asked, putting a hand on his nape and Pierce nodded with a hum.

"I think I'm pregnant."Meryl said, looking straight into Pierce's eyes.

"You're kidding."Pierce uttered.

"Do I look like I'm kidding?"Meryl asked and Pierce's jaw dropped.

"I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet but I just think that I'm pregnant because I've been feeling a lot of pregnancy symptoms lately."Meryl said and Pierce cupped her face.

"I'll take a leave today. I'll be with you."Pierce said and he pressed his lips against hers.

Pierce immediately called work to tell them that he'll take the day off and headed straight to a nearby pharmacy and bought three pregnancy test kit. He came back after almost ten minutes and Meryl looked at him.

"What if I'm not really pregnant?"Meryl asked softly for in the past, they have experienced many false alarms that's why Meryl is afraid that this is one of them.

"I'll still be here. I love you."Pierce answered and Meryl smiled.

"I love you too."Meryl replied and Pierce kissed her forehead.

"Take these pregnancy tests babe, I'll be here waiting."Pierce said softly as he hand her a small paper bag. Meryl just nodded and headed straight to the bathroom.

After a few minutes, Meryl came out of the bathroom and she looked at Pierce who is in bed, silently waiting for her.

"And now we have to wait."Meryl uttered as she sit beside her husband and Pierce placed a hand on her abdomen.

"I feel you in there little angel."Pierce uttered and it made Meryl smile.

"Don't hope too much babe, it might be another false alarm."Meryl said and Pierce kissed her temple.

"I feel that this time isn't."Pierce said softly.

"Five minutes feels like forever."Meryl uttered after a few moments of silence and Pierce held her hand.
