What happens in Vegas

"Babe, have you thought about the trip that I told you about?"He asked as he crawl to his and his girlfriend's bed.

"What trip?"Her girlfriend who is currently browsing a magazine asked.

"The trip to Vegas for three days, just the two of us."He answered and his girlfriend closed the magazine before looking at him.

"My schedule is kind of tight babe. I mean, I really love to go on a trip with you because those are the things we planned to do but not really right now, Pierce. I'm sorry, baby."She replied and he let out a sigh.

"How about uhmm next week or the week after next week or the week after the week after next week?"Pierce asked almost a whisper and she ran her fingers through his hair.

"I'm really sorry, babe."She said softly.

"Just forget that I even asked you for a trip. It can wait maybe next month or next year so just nevermind."Pierce said and she suddenly felt bad for him because even if they're both busy with their work in theater, he still tries to really be with her and fulfill their dreams of travelling the whole country.

"Babe, look at me."She said softly and he shook his head.

"It's fine, Merl, I'm sorry for being a push-over about that trip. I just...I--It's fine."Pierce said before he settled on their bed.

"Hey, hey, no, you know what, I'll try to talk to my boss tomorrow. I know that lately I've been busy and I think, a time for just the two of us is really a great idea."Meryl said and he smiled.

"You will try. It's okay of they won't allow you. Just don't think about it too much. Let's just get some sleep."Pierce said and she nodded.

"I love you, okay?"Meryl said softly and he kissed her forehead.

"I know, I know. I love you, more."Pierce replied and she sweetly smiled.

The next day, Meryl headed to her work as usual and she did her best to perform excellently even if it takes her too much energy.

"Uhmm Bob?"Meryl approached her boss after the end of the day and her heart is pounding that it feels like it's coming off her chest.

"Yes?"Her boss asked.

"I just wanna ask if I can take three-day leave for this weekend?"Meryl asked softly.

"For what?"Her boss asked and that made her gulp the lump on her throat.

"I uhmm I...Pierce and I...We uhmm planned to go on a short trip to uhmm Vegas."Meryl answered.

"I mean, Pierce really wanted it and uhmm I don't wanna like disappoint him or whatever, I know it maybe is too much to ask."Meryl added.

"Sure, you can take your three-day leave but I want you to be on your game when you come back, understood?"Her boss said and it made her gasp.

"Understood. Oh, my God thank you so much, Pierce will be thrilled!"Meryl exclaimed.

"Pierce is my boy, ya'know. Tell him to visit here sometimes, the company miss him."Her boss said and she eagerly nodded.

"Of course, I'll tell him that. Thank you again, so much."Meryl said before she rushed out of the theater to go home to her man.

"Babe, I'm home!"Meryl yelled as she run inside their apartment and she found him in the kitchen, cooking their dinner.

"Hi."She greeted as she tiptoe to kiss his cheek.

"Hi, how's your day?"He asked and she hugged him sideways.

"Dreadful but I'm home now."She answered and he kissed the top of her head.
