"Meryl, are you going to Leslee's party later?"Her girlfriend asked over-the-phone as she walk through the crowded sidewalk of New York on the way home.

"I don't know Christine. I'll still ask Chris if I can go."She answered.

"Oh, my God. Chris is not your father."Her girlfriend Christine uttered.

"But he is my boyfriend."Meryl retorted.

"He is holding you on the neck for pete's sake. You have to go to the party. Cher will be there and she will be real disappointed if you won't go. We will go there if that sucker didn't allow you."Christine uttered and Meryl let out a sigh.

"Fine."Meryl said softly.

"Alright, call me. Bye."Christine said before ending the call.

Meryl arrived at her apartment after a few more walks and she dropped her keys on the coffee table right away.

"Hey."A voice called for her and she suddenly felt someone kiss her cheek that made her smile.

"Hey."Meryl greeted back before turning around to see him.

"Just got home from work?"She asked almost a whisper as she wrap her arms around his waist.

"Not really. I got home about two hours ago."He answered.

"Uhmm baby,"Meryl said softly and her boyfriend hummed.

"It is Leslee's birthday and the girls are going to be there, including Cher and they might get disappointed if I didn't go."She added as she start to play with his hair.

"And you'd rather disappoint me than disappoint them?"Her boyfriend asked that made her let out a sigh.

"Okay, I'll just tell them that I won't go."Meryl answered with a weak smile.

"I love you, okay?"His boyfriend whispered.

"I love you, too. I'll cook dinner."Meryl replied before pulling back.

"And now you're not going to talk to me?"Her boyfriend asked all of a sudden and it made her shake her head.

"What the fuck?All I said is that I'm going to cook dinner."Meryl answered.

"And you're not giving me a life anymore. Make me express what I feel is the least you can give."Meryl said calmly.

"Okay, fine. If you wanna go then go!"Her boyfriend yelled that startled her.

"Chris, I just want a life. Yes, you are my boyfriend but I also have friends, my God!"Meryl exclaimed before grabbing some of her clothes and shoes.

"Stop being a fucking baby."Meryl said before leaving the apartment.

She headed straight to her friend's apartment and she let out a sigh when they opened the door.

"Meryl's coming to the party!"Her girlfriend Christine exclaimed and their other girlfriends who are in the apartment squealed.

"You and Chris fought, didn't you?"Christine asked, sitting beside Meryl.

"Yes and can I use the bathroom?I wanna take a shower."Meryl answered.

"Of course. As if you didn't live here."Christine answered and Meryl smiled.

"Thank you."Meryl said before heading to the shower.

After Meryl took a shower, she started getting ready for the party and she is just glad that her girlfriends are there to somehow make her laugh.
