(Metaverse, Futaba's Palace)
"Futaba read the calling card", Mona stated
"All right, now we get the treasure", Skull stated as everyone entered the pyramid for the final time and climbed the grand staircase; as they approached the door that wouldn't open for the thieves the last time they visited, the door opened allowing them all to enter the heart of the pyramid; however... in the heart of the palace laid only a single coffin
"This ain't what I was imaginin'", Skull muttered
"Were you expecting a mountain of treasure or something", Fox asked
"There is that over there", Panther asked pointing at the coffin
"That's it", Skull muttered, a bit disappointed
"The treasure must be inside", Queen stated
"All right, lets take it", Skull said as he started walking towards the coffin
"Be careful", Fox called out
"T-Treasure", Mona shouted, excitement in his voice as he ran towards the coffin but a loud cawing sound came from somewhere, alarming the thieves
"There's something here", Fox said alarmed
"I got a bad feeling about this", Skull muttered, then all of a sudden a part of the pyramid broke off, illuminating the spot the thieves stood at
"Fuuuuutaaaaaabaaaaaa"
An eye appeared in the hole as a screech came out which scared the Phantom Thieves
"Is it a shadow", Queen asked, fear lacing her voice
"It's not Futaba", Fox said
"Don't tell me", Mona muttered, then the pyramid top began falling apart as they then saw what was looking at them, it looked like a flying sphinx with a human face
"This is insane", Panther said with fear in her voice as then the monster screeched again flapping its wings sending out a wave of air which knocked everyone back; thanks to the debris on the floor, the Phantom Thieves didn't fall off the Pyramid's top
"If it's not a shadow, then what is it", Skull shouted
"It's a... cognition, a monster that Futaba's cognition created", Mona yelled trying not to get blown off the Pyramid's top
"Look out, here it comes", Skull shouted as the wind died down and the cognition began it's attack
(Meanwhile)
"So this is inside my heart... I didn't think it be like this" Futaba said looking around the pyramid; as she began walking forward a large portrait fell right in front of her, a picture of Futaba and her Mother, then Shadow Futaba appeared right next to Futaba
"Do you remember", Shadow Futaba asked, but Futaba said nothing, dropping down to her knees and curling up into a ball"don't run, I thought you made up your mind after you talked to the Phantom Thieves",
"I was complaining, mom scolded me for bothering her... I wanted to go on a family trip, but she scolded me and said no", Futaba muttered
"Was that all she said", Shadow Futaba asked
"She said..."I'm too busy right now, I need to get my cognitive research done as soon as possible", Futaba explained
"And what did you do", Shadow Futaba asked
"I threw a tantrum, told her she thought her research was more important than I was, that's when she scolded me", Futaba muttered
"Then what did she say afterwards, there was more", Shadow Futaba stated
