Everyone had returned to Japan by the next day, and everyone mainly passed out due to jet lag once they got home, but mostly everyone was over it, and ready for school; however, once everyone arrived, an emergency assembly came into play and everyone was gathered in the gym; most students were gossiping about what happened with the principal, until the schools vice principal approached the microphone
"We will now begin the emergency morning assembly, as many of you already know... Principal Kobayakawa passed away yesterday", The vice principal said as more rumors about the principal committing suicide began spreading around, "the principal had been working hard to restore peace ever since the incident with Mr. Kamoshida, he only wished for everyone to be able to lead a normal school life, and because of that love...",
The students gossiped more about the principal covering up Kamoshida's crime, and some people thinking that the Phantom Thieves could possibly be to blame; but the Phantom Thieves were dropped from the blame game, quickly
"I would like to see everyone live up to our late principal's wishes as proud Shujin students", the vice principal said as the assembly then ended and the students were free to leave.
(Evening, Yongen Jaya, Café Leblanc, Hideout)
Everyone had gathered around, Makoto had taken data from her sister's laptop about the mental shutdowns; and Futaba had cracked it open while the rest of the thieves were away at Hawaii.
"Before we talk about the data we got from Sis, we need to discuss the incident with the principal", Makoto explained
"People are already talking about it online", Ann mumbled
"Nobody's saying it's 'cause of the Phantom Thieves... so far", Ryuji stated while looking at his phone
"People think he did it because that tabloid exposed how he was covering up Kamoshida's abuses", Yusuke asked
"Could it be that... we're responsible for Principal Kobayakawa's suicide", Ann asked
"Whaddya mean", Ryuji asked confused
"If we hadn't changed Kamoshida's heart, maybe this never would've happened", Ann muttered
"But then Kamoshida woulda kept doing what he did if we didn't take him down", Ryuji stated
"Ryuji's right, and even if he committed suicide over that, it would've been early on", Luna said
"There's a lot of opinions online, "It's only natural that he died", "Covering up crimes is wrong", Futaba said not looking away from her laptop
"The comments I've seen are similar as well. "Only the Phantom Thieves are on our side", "I wish the Phantom Thieves would take down the police and the politicians of this country", Yusuke said reading the comments from his phone
"It's not just the news, there's even Phantom Thief merchandise now", Ann mumbled, "I never expected we'd end up such a big deal",
"It seems like the public would rather believe in us than in the adults", Yusuke said, "people are trying to get the Phantom Thieves to solve societal problems, not just personal ones",
"This is kinda scary", Ann said
"Are we really doing the right thing", Makoto asked
"I mean, the principal was coverin' stuff up, right, I guess... he got what was comin' to him", Ryuji mumbled
"Whoa, guys, let's get back on topic, weren't we going to discuss the data we obtained from Niijima", Morgana asked as then everyone looked at each other
