A Not So Perfect Date

A/n- so... this chapter was to be a special for 10k reads on this book, but it slipped my mind and I didn't put it up, so now I'm putting it in as a chapter for the story, and I've been playing Persona 5 Royal, it is awesome, I highly recommend everyone to play it -Gothic Moonlight

(Morning, Yongen Jaya)

A few days had passed since Futaba had joined the Phantom Thieves; today everyone had things to do... mostly... Ann had a photoshoot; Ryuji was training at the gym in Shibuya; Makoto was busy with schoolwork with the student council; Yusuke was working on an art project for his school; and Futaba pretty much stayed at home; with everyone mostly busy, Akira had asked Luna out on a date, and both were to meet up in Shibuya; as Akira walked outside and towards the Station Square where he was to meet up with Luna; he saw her sitting down on a bench, as she saw him, she got up and walked towards him.

"Hey Akira, you alright, you seem tired", Luna asked

"Yeah, I'm fine, Mishima kept bugging me last night about three targets for Mementos", Akira mumbled

"Three, he usually gives us one request at a time", Luna said confused

"Yeah, but this time, he gave us three", Akira said and then Akira's phone went off, and he soon checked it, later groaning, "scratch that, make it four now", 

"Why not get some of the requests done, then he can leave you alone", Luna asked pulling out her phone

"We can't, it's too risky; besides, we don't have Morgana so we won't really be in and out", Akira stated. "and Morgana warned us about the powerful shadow coming after us if we're in there too long",

"Then we don't stay for that long, let's just look around for a bit, we won't go past the rest area", Luna reassured

"...Fine, but only till the rest area, then we're out", Akira said as then Luna began inputting Mementos into the MetaNav.

"Beginning Navigation"

(Metaverse, Mementos)

"We're going in blind, you ready", Joker asked

"Ready, let's just be careful", Light said as the two then entered Mementos; as they reach the first floor of the area, they noticed that there weren't a lot of shadows in the area

"If Queen were here, she wouldn't advise going separate ways", Light stated

"I agree, let's just search quickly", Joker said as the two began exploring the first floor, they soon found nothing on floor one and went down to floor two and began searching there

"Joker, over there", Light said pointing towards a distortion in the wall

"Nice job, let's go fight", Joker said as they then approached and jumped into the distortion; as they emerged from the distortion, they saw an old man, after some words from the grumpy old man, he then turned into a shadow and Joker and Luna soon fought; after fighting the grumpy old man promised them that he'd change and no longer be grumpy.

"One down, three to go," Light said as the two jumped back through the distortion and began searching again; they then found the next distortion and jumped through; emerging from the next distortion, they saw a young woman there, she began talking about cats, which luckily the two didn't really have to fight her fully; after exchanging words, she promised to change and disappeared.

"Halfway done now", Joker said as they then jumped back through the distortion and then walked down towards floor three.

"Well, this is an interesting date, huh", Joker asked

"Yeah, by far, this has to be the most interesting date", Light said with a smile; soon... the two continued searching, they found the third distortion, and jumped in; as they emerged through, they saw a teenage girl wearing a Shujin Academy uniform, she muttered about a guy, then the two thieves soon followed the same routine as always; the shadow would share words, everyone fights, and the girl promises to change; as Joker and Light finished searching the third floor, they then traveled to the fourth floor which was the rest area.

"Well, we got three out of the four requests done, you ready to head out", Light asked

"Why not one more level, then we call it a day", Joker asked, "it'll get Mishima to stop with the requests for awhile... and Mona to stop pestering me with asking everyone to go to Mementos",

"And it gets annoying fast, right", Light asked

"Very", Joker said bluntly

"Alright, one more floor, and then we get out", Light stated as the two thieves walked down the stairs to floor five and began exploring and soon found the last distortion and jumped inside; emerging from the distortion, they saw a man who was mumbling to himself, and just like the other three; it was the same, words are shared, a battle fought and the guy promising to be good from now on, and then disappeared; then the two thieves jumped back through the distortion.

"All requests done", Light said as the two thieves high-fived each other

"All right, now... let's get out of here", Joker said as Light nodded her head in agreement; as they began walking away towards the floors above, a faint sound was heard

"Joker... did you hear that", Light asked turning around to look behind them as Joker turned around as well, all was quiet... until they then heard what appeared to be rattling of chains which were growing close, which made Joker's and Light's eyes widen with fear

"The Reaper", Light and Joker said together, fear lacing in their voices as then a red light began emerging from a corner

"Run", Joker said as the two thieves began running away and ran up to floor four.

"Now I wish we brought Mona, or the others", Light said, slight panic in her voice

"We're safe here, but to get rid of him, we have to leave Mementos", Joker stated

"I know, we have to avoid him at all costs, fighting him is pretty much suicide", Light explained

"Yeah, you ready", Joker asked

"Let's get outta here", Light said as they ran up the stairs to floor three, Joker and Light could still hear the rattling of chains, but it was far away; as they ran they were watching out for the reaper's red searchlight and the distance of the rattling chains; they soon made it to floor two where the rattling of chains sounded a bit close but still far off which they didn't fully care about, all they cared about right now was making it out alive; soon they were finally at floor one, the rattling of chains close now, as they kept running, both noticed the reapers red light coming from corners which made the two thieves panic more; Joker turned his head while running to see how close the reaper was getting towards them, however he tripped on the track and fell with a thud.

"Joker", Light shouted as she skidded to a stop and ran back to help Joker up, as she pulled Joker up from the ground, a red light washed over them, as they turned their heads and looked up, they saw The Reaper

"RUN", Light shouted as the two began sprinting towards the exit the reaper close behind them; soon, the exit was in sight, but the reaper was close, and ready to attack

"We're not gonna make it", Light said, fear in her voice

"Hang on", Joker shouted as he threw his grappling hook near the exit and wrapped his arm around Light; soon the grappling hook began pulling the two thieves away from The Reaper and out of Mementos

(Real world, Evening, Shibuya)

"We made it out", Akira said while panting

"Nice thinking... with the grappling hook... thanks", Luna said, panting as well

"Luna, let's not go back there without the others, alright", Akira stated as the two got up off the ground

"Agreed", Luna said as the two began walking towards the trains to return home for the day

"Well, today was interesting", Akira said

"Yeah, you have to admit though, it was fun... until the reaper came and crashed the party", Luna stated

"Yeah... you know we can't tell anyone this... especially Morgana, I don't want him nagging at me", Akira stated

"Don't worry, our little secret's safe", Luna reassured as the two made their way home for the day
