"IT'S YOU!" I scream. Faith stands at my side. I don't know how I'm surprised by this though. Keepers are rather good at disguises.
"Contain the girl! She's insane!" he yells, false panic in his voice. Guards come in and carefully pull me out of the bed. I try to run away, but pain shoots through my leg. In a final attempt to stand, I cry out, not in pain, but a warning.
"FAITH! RUN!" I scream. She seems startled and pauses, before she was trying to get past the guards, but the so called doctor stands in her way. She turns and jumps onto the bed, then on top of a shelf, giving one last look at me, then jumps through the open window. The doctor/Keeper pushes a contraption to my neck, and it stings. A few seconds later, I go limp and am dragged away by two guards, each holding under my arm. They take me to a different room, and put me on another bed, this one has leather straps to hold me down. My wrists , ankles, and waist are held down. After a few hours I can feel my legs and wrists. I try to get loose, shaking the entire bed, with no prevail. Soon an actual doctor comes in and pushes my bed out the door. The wheels beneath me squeak.
After countless turns and several minutes,we are outside. I'm taken to a hole in the ground not far from where we plan to make our village. I am blindfolded so I can't remember the way out, then I am wheeled to a cell. I can hear voices, talking about insane things, or pleading to be set free. Finally, we stop and I am unblindfolded. I am removed from my restrictions, and I try to escape, but disintegrate handcuffs are put on me. I'm pushed into the cell. My knee screams. It's like a hospital room without anything in it. My handcuffs soon dissolve at the chain, but the actual cuffs stay on. They will magnetize together when commanded to do so. I sit on the ground. There seemed to be nothing here, but the entire place is covered in dust. I draw in the dust with my foot to pass the time.
A doctor comes to the door after a few hours. He pushes a button on a remote and my cuffs push themselves together magnetically and I'm thrown to the floor. He opens the cell and wheels in a hospital bed. I try to stand so I can run out, but the cuffs won't let me. I then realized the floor must be metal as well. He sees me figure it out and smiles.
"Insane, but clever. That's a new combination." he chuckles. He rewrapps my bandages and helps me onto the bed, somehow without the remote, he is able to get the magnets off the floor and onto a metal bed bar. I will have to figure that out. He sets a tray of food on the ground and a glass of water, with a sippy cup lid. I raise an eyebrow. He gives a laugh.
"Some people would rather die than be here, so we try to not make drowning an option." he grins. I don't like this guy, he's just too cheery to be in an asylum. He leaves and closes the door. He must also be a guard, I think to myself.
When the door is locked, he hits the remote again and I can move. I eat and look at the sippy cup. I try in vain to take the lid off, but It won't come off. So, ashamed, I drink it like a toddler. He laughs at me, again. When I'm finished I put them near the door, but he still hits the button and I'm thrown to the floor. The good news is, my knee is already healing. Just thinking about it is painful, but in a few days it will be fine. I can actually watch it slowly heal, which is mesmerizing. I can stand already, but I can't for long. It might even be healed by tomorrow. He hits the button and orders me to my bed. I lay down and soon have my hands thrown to the side. He takes my dishes away and whistling, closes the door and leaves. He didn't release my hands. I yell for him to come back, but it is in vain. Tired from the long day, I fall asleep.
