I already had it arranged with the cook for one of the sugar saplings from the kitchen store room to be 'misplaced'. Emma and I 'snuck' our way into the kitchen storehouse of rare plants.
Emma looked as if she was going to explode as we walked to the back of the storage room. She looked at every plant, poked the pineapples touched the Jabuticaba, picked up the purple potatoes, and messed with all kinds of things. I found the sugar, and I went to grab the most sickly sugar sapling in the group. It looked like a bamboo shoot, but Emma knew better. She started jumping up and down, leaving the pineapple behind, we both knew she didn't have a sugar plant, or any of these, but sugar was on her mind right now.
I handed her the wilting one, and she tucked it into her arm like it was a baby. She took one last glance at the room of exotic fruits and we crept out ,and I pretended to lock the door behind me. We went back to her room, planted the sapling, watered her plants and then I left.
Coral was waiting for me in the cabin. Then together we left to fish. After an hour or so,we managed to haul in a net full of weird fish. Our marine expert said they were called mackerel and we were lucky to get them, and then he had some person run them down to the kitchen.
He said they needed to be eaten today, or not at all. A cook came up and dumped the fish guts into the water. A few minutes later, bigger fish came to eat the remains of the mackerel such as tuna, we just had caught 3 tuna when a shark feeding frenzy started.
The first shark was a blue shark, about 7 feet long, then more and more sharks came. We didn't worry about catching more fish, we have enough to feed about 20 people, and that's just fish! We have more than enough. So we watched safely away from the rail to avoid jumping sharks.
As we were about to leave a Great White Shark jumped almost 10 feet out of the water holding a smaller shark in its deadly jaws. Then it was done, the feeding frenzy was over and the sharks just disappeared, heading out to the wide open ocean. That night we feasted on mackerel,roasted apples, and chicken broth.
A few days after the shark frenzy, some engineers built fishing poles that will be able to hold a small shark, and we attached fish guts to the tip. We tried the poles out as the boats moved and caught tuna easily as a school swam past. It was starting to get easier.
As the sun stretched across the sky we got tans and burns on any parts of our skin that is bare. We feasted on fish, again. Repeat the last 3 sentences about 5 times, now you understand how bored of fish we are. We traveled about 100 miles so far. Only 3637.293 miles left!
