~~Note: No bad stuff in this one! Other than a slight mention of nightmares. 0~0

The grip of reality was cold and sweet as it tightly held it's hold on Abby's throat. She woke up, her alarm painfully bright in her eyes. '4:47 AM'. Of course. Looking at her nightstand, she grabbed her inhaler, expecting another asthma attack. This time, however, her lungs seemed to be operating normally. She had another nightmare about her soulmate. Whoever they were, she hated them. She also hated how this whole soulmate thing worked in general. You and your soulmate would have alternating dreams. The last thing your soulmate would think about before falling asleep, you would dream about it and visa versa. This was the third nightmare this week and it was only Thursday.

Of course, it would almost be impossible to find your soulmate if it wasn't for the little watches everyone wore. The watches documented your last thought before falling asleep and your most recent nightmare. Everyone born has a soulmate assigned to them, and almost everyone wears a watch. Some people prefer a more 'civilized' way. Just waiting for them and guessing. But with the watches, nobody has to guess.

Abby simply just laid down and attempted to sleep until ineffably, it was time for school. Grudgingly getting ready for school, she wanted to die.

Upon arriving at the hell forsaken school, she sat with her friends at the breakfast table. Jaz sat across from her, reading a new romance novel. Her watch read, 'Dream about Pablo.' Next to Abby, sat Aiden talking about halloween, or something. His watch just simply read, 'Match Found'. He, much like some of their other classmates, had found his soulmate. Her name was Liv and they both seemed happy about their forever match. Across from him, sat Dan. Dan seemed to be missing his watch, probably lost it. Dan was arguing with Aiden, even when Madi sat down next to Aiden. Abby couldn't see Madi's watch, but went ahead and guessed that her watch matched that Adam guy.

"Dan, where's your watch?" Madi asked, noticing and she tilted her head curiously.

"Well, I-I just lost it." Dan said not meeting her eyes. He seemed on edge immediately. "But, Aiden I'm just saying that there should be a no school on Halloween!" He blurted out, changing the subject.

Abby took her attention away from her friends to someone she slightly hoped was her soulmate. Swooping his hair to the side as he laughed, Bryan Godoy was listening to another classic joke from his friend, Jordan. Jordan already found his soulmate with Madi's ex, Junior. They both seemed excited about it, especially in the bathroom during lunch. Just him taking a breath near her could possibly kill her, from how much she liked him. Her and Madi shared this love of him and wooed over him together. Aiden had switched seats with Madi so that him and Dan could argue better. So her and Madi were talking about 'bean tree'. Madi had took a glance to Abby's wrist and stopped talking.

"What's wrong?" Abby asked, gaining the attention of their other friends. Madi's face had looked like it was bleached, other than the red dashing her checks. She was holding her watch, as if she wanted it to disintegrate.

After over a minute of silence between the group, Madi whispered, "I found my soulmate."

Silence and fear filled the small group. Everyone else in the cafeteria was normal, while this small group of friends sat and waiting in fear. How would they both react, realizing that they were destined to be together.

Glancing down at her watch, Abby anticipated in fear. The watch had only read two words she dreaded. "Match Found."
