Screams and shouts were heard in the room before silence quickly followed. Another one sedated.

Jaz sighed, looking around the cafeteria, looking around for her friends. The guards stared at her, ready to get up at any moment. Looking back down, she stared at her yellow sweatshirt waiting for something, anything at this point.

"Hey Jaz." Dan offered a weak smile as she saw the bags under his eyes were darker, his black hoodie covering up most of his hands. He placed a small notebook on the table with a pen beside it, the edges of it being worn and torn. Jaz returned the smile as they both looked to their right to see Madi furrowing her brows.

"They gave me these new earbuds and I hate them." She muttered, sitting down beside Dan and putting the small ear plugs on the table. Her usual pink hoodie with the YouTuber logo printed onto it had changed slightly, she rolled up the sleeves for once. "They feel so weird and they buzz in my ears."

"Mayeb they're made from bees." Dan chuckled as he suddenly stared at something invisible beside Madi before he began picking at his fingers.

"I heard that they terminated Alyssa." Jaz muttered, looking around to check if anyone was listening. Madi sighed before leaning her head on her hand, her elbow resting on the table.

"I wonder who the screams where then, normally Alyssa is the one that wakes up shouting." Dan pointed out, refusing to look up from his note book. Slowly opening it, he flipped to a page and began scribbling in it. On the page was a strange creature sketched onto it with notes surrounding it.

"We have a new intern, please be kind to them." One of the guards spoke as they opened the door to reveal a tall girl in a lab coat, a clipboard in her hands. The intern nervously looked around before she caught Jaz staring at her.

"Oh no." Jaz muttered as she jerked her head back at the other two.

"She's walking over here." Madi whispered as she looked back to Jaz before the intern stood next to their table.

"Hello, my name is Dr George and I'm here to assist you three. I have been assigned you and would like to get to know you three better." The intern grinned before she sat down beside Jaz. The nametag on her coat read 'Abby George'.

"I'm Madi, this is Dan, and that's Jaz." Madi spoke out, pointing to the two as she spoke. Dan jerked his head up and quickly closed the notebook as Jaz giggled slightly and waved.

"Well, it's great to meet you three." Abby kept her smile as she pulled up pages on her clipboard. "What happened to your last Overseerer?"

"I wrote about him dying in my sleep." Jaz whispered, looking down at the table in shame. The intern was speechless for a moment before humming.

"Okay, it says here whatever you write about comes true. Do you know when this started?" The intern looked up as Jaz struggled to find words for a moment.

"I noticed it in middle school." Jaz kept her voice low, not wanting to continue. Abby nodded before looking back to the clipboard.

"And Madi can see people's emotions. When did this start?" Abby looked back up to Madi as the other tensed up randomly.

"One day I woke up and boom, they were there." Madi explained, her eyes darting around as Dan quickly pulled his notebook from the table and clutched it to his chest.

"It says here that Dan over there can see... things. What are they exactly?" Abby asked, hesitating on her words as she looked over at Dan hopefully.
