AN- yo fuck editing this I did this running on two hours of sleep enjoy death or whatever.
Staring at the shorter one, Abby meant it as a joke. Yes it was cold, but not too cold for Abby at least. Not cold enough to need Madi's robes. However, the shorter one inclined, and wrapped the robe around her for you.
"Aw, you look so warm now. Looks good on you, too." Madi giggled, as Abby felt herself melt from the way the other looked. Cheeks rosy pink as well as the tip of her nose, her sweater that sleeves went the the tips of her fingers. Imagining endless possibilities in this scenario crossed the taller one's mind as the two continued their walk to the Hogsmeade Village.
The words were forming as Abby realized now was the time. It was perfect time to tell the other how she felt. The warm fuzzy feeling that would never leave her when they hung out, the buzz of energy she would get whenever she knew they would work together in class.
Snowflakes fell one after another as finally, Abby looked over at her only to see her staring off at someone else. But that wasn't the problem. She was looking at the boy the same way Abby would look at her, a sight for sore eyes indeed.
The boy smirked and waved back at her, Madi blushed even harder and turned over at Abby excitedly. Abby offered a grin and laughed at her friend's behaviour.
"I think he likes me back." Madi giggled as she continued to talk about him while Abby stared at the snow in front of them. The crunches of snow under their feet and Madi's voice was able to reach Abby's ears but she didn't process them. Her mind was captured somewhere else. Thinking about the scenarios.
Did she actually think Madi liked her back at all? That they would hold hands and kiss above the table at The Three Broomsticks as they giggled over butterbeer? That they would give each other gifts and write love notes to each other? Why would Madi do any of those with her, when there was Malfoy to be head over heels for.
"Jaz, you look like you're freezing." They heard one of their friend's say as they turned to see Jaz bundled up, some of the clothes being yellow and some being green. Walking beside her was Dan, in casual muggle clothes with a scarf that hung loosely around his neck.
"I'm fine." She reassured him, gesturing to the layers of clothes that she wore. Dan chuckled, before looking up to see Abby and Madi waiting for them. The four got together and talked as they walked down the streets of Hogsmeade together, talking about the professors, other classmates, anything and everything they could. This was one of the few weekends were none of them had any homework to do.
Abby tried to stay in the conversation, she really did. But her attempts wasn't enough since they kept passing the other Slytherin boy. The one Madi giggled about. The one Dan was now mocking as Jaz smiled from Madi's behaviour. The one Abby had to force a smile whenever he was spoken about.
It would take months for Abby to get use to the fake smiles she would have to pull. The long conversations in the middle of the night in the dorm rooms about how dense Malfoy was, how stupid he was, and how much she just hated him. Giving Dan ideas to make fun of the blonde boy about, whether it ranged to his hair or his family being inbreeds.
It would take years for Abby to realize this wasn't something she could get over. To realize that these feelings wouldn't go away. That she would have to grow with them and just deal with the pain.
It was fine to her.
Completely fine.
If you asked her how she felt, she would respond with a smile and say that she was doing good.
Which is what brought here to standing up at their wedding with a speech.

Abby sighed before standing up and looking down at the notes she pulled together. Looking up, she saw Jaz flash her a smile and Dan put a thumbs up for encouragement.
"This is an incredible day for everyone here."
It's not one for me.
"My best friend since we met Diagon Alley before our first year."
The love of my life since we met in Diagon Alley.
"As well as the infamous Malfoy's boy, who I didn't speak much to personally during school, I did get an earful about him from Madi over here."
The infamous Draco Malfoy that I despise and hate so deeply.
"Many people would love to be in your shoes, Malfoy."
I would love to be in his shoes.
"In fact, I wouldn't doubt if someone hated you over this."
I hate him. So much.
"You both are incredible people."
I wish he was dead. It's not him, it's me
"And I know that the both of you will make each other very happy." Abby ended her statement with a smile as she looked up to see Madi grinning from ear to ear.
Please make her happy. I know you will, I've seen the way she speaks about you.
"Thank you." She watched Madi mouth the words as the wedding continued on.
I wish I could make her as happy as you do.
Sitting down down beside Dan and Jaz, she sighed and leaned back as she watched the married couple dance. Watching Madi giggle and as Malfoy held her. Jaz held a cup of one of the drinks while Dan was casting Reducio on a fork, watching it shrink and regrow once he casted another spell.
I wish I was him.
"Gosh, this wedding is so sa- Abby?" Dan interupted himself as he looked over to see Abby crying. Jaz stared, unsure of what to do as Abby let the tears pour and she chuckled slightly.
"I wish I was him." She smiled sadly as the tears stopped, but the stains were still on her face. Still staring at the couple dancing, her other two friends comforted her as best as they could.
Please.
The doors busted open. A person in a cloak entered, quickly aiming their wand towards the couple. The three watched in shock as the person shouted their spell.
"Sectumsempra!" The person yelled as everyone stared in shock. Dan seemed to be the only one with his wand already in hand.
"Protego!" Dan shouted, casting the spell in front of the couple as everyone stared, watching the spell bounce to another area. Abby stared in horror as she watched the spell race straight into her.
I'm so sorry.
It hurt. Painfully. She laid on the ground, tears in her eyes as she felt the world around her go darker.
"Vulnera Sanentur, somebody use Vulnera Sanentur!" Madi shouted, despreatly looking for anybody with their wand on them. Most had dropped theirs off at the entrance, as Dan stood their in stuttering shock.
Just make her happy.
Feeling the blood flow onto the floor, she suddenly felt warmth. Calm. Reminding her of the cold winter day from years ago. The warmth of Madi's robe still surrounded her as she smiled before feeling nothing.
