"DAN, GIVE ME BACK MY FUCKING PENCIL." Aiden shouted as he chased after the short man that sprinted through the streets of the safe town. Surrounding said safe town was a giant wall. It would go up about 30 feet and around the entire neighborhood. Only way in was a safely guarded door that had people at it at all times. Either way, the zombies couldn't climb the wall and the guns at the door could easily kill an entire hoard in a second.

"Gotta get me first, bitch!" Dan shouted as he slipped in between groups of people, an advantage for being short. Aiden, however, had to shove past people to follow the gremlin.

"Dan, what in the world are you doing." Spoke out on of their leaders, Abby. After the wall was created, Abby and Madi rose up to power. They were still Dan's and Aiden's friends, just didn't have time for them. That was what seemed like forever ago, but was only about 2-3 years.

"Oh, Dear Leader. Why I was just-" Dan cut himself off as Aiden came through the crowd breathless.

"Aiden. Perfect timing. I need two people to get a medicine run. You two seem to be the only two that are in trouble that are free at the moment, so I suggest you go and grab a gun or two and some other things." Abby had a smug look on her face as she exited into her giant home.

"Fuck." Aiden groaned as he snatched back his pencil from Dan, while the shorter one stared at the door.

"At least we get to take the truck." Dan smiled up at the other, hopeful. Aiden groaned before making his way back across town to the where everything was stored.

"Hurry up, I'd like to make it back before dark." Aiden continued walking as the shorter one jogged to keep up with him.

"So, how's are you and Liv doing?" Dan asked, wanting to make the walk seem faster since he hated silence.

"I don't know. She hasn't responded to the letters for a week." Aiden got quieter as he spoke, not wanting the conversation to continue as the shorter one finally began to speed-walk.

"Oh." Dan spoke, quickly ending the conversation. The walk to the base was silent, but it was better than talking about a possibly dead girlfriend.

"Alright, what you guys need?" Jaz asked, a bright smile on her face as she continued to organize the several boxes of guns and ammunition.

"We're going out for a supply run. Medical supplies." Aiden shrugged as he leaned against the wall.

"Do we get to take the truck?" Dan asked, pretending to act mature even though ten minutes ago he was being chased for a pencil.

"You're too short to reach the pedals anyway." Aiden pointed out as Dan huffed from his response.

"You can take one of them. I'll get your bags ready, just pick a truck." Jaz grabbed two bags and began to stuff them with several things. As she spoke, Dan and Aiden looked at the decent amount of trucks that the colony has stolen and upgraded. Finally, they decided on one that seemed to be pretty fast and durable to damage.

"There's extra fuel in the back, right?" Dan asked as Jaz hummed and handed them the bags.

"Two guns, two knives, enough food to last three days, one med kit, four bottles of water, a map, and a flare gun for emergency. You guys might wanna sleep in the truck." Jaz suggested as she opened up the garage door. Outside the door, was another fence that three solders guarded, electric fence unless everything shuts off. That's why there was barbed wire at the top just in case. As the two got in the car and put the bags in front of the passenger seat, the guards opened the gate and let the truck drive out. Jaz waved the two off as the guards quickly closed back the gate.
