I woke up as I felt my wristband vibrate. That's all I use it for. To wake me up and keep track of my daily schedules.

I rubbed my eyes, sat up and stretched. But I suddenly felt something weird.

The wall on my left was different from the one of my bedroom. The one on my bedroom is smooth with nothing on it. But this one is different. It has acrylic texture.

Not only that, but the bed is smaller. Mine is a Queen sized one, but this one I'm in is Single sized.

"What the heck...?"

Just then, I heard someone coming my way. The footsteps are like my father's, but still different. Heavier.

"Oh, you're awake." I heard someone saying. It's one of the voices I heard the day before. Mature and calm.

"Are you okay?" He asked me.

"Who are you?" I asked back.

"Relax, I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to make sure you're okay."

"Why? Because I'm blind?"

"No, because you fainted as soon as you got here."

My eyes widened with his answer. I never thought someone would say that to me without stuttering or hesitating for a bit.

Usually people get nervous whenever I ask them stuff like that, but this guy didn't. Not for a split second.

"Oh..." That was what left my mouth on the beginning. "... Yeah, I think I'm okay."

"Glad to hear it."

"Oh, and um... Sorry, for my previous behaviour."

"It's okay. You don't have to apologize."

I smile a bit at his words, which are full of kindness.

"So... Won't you answer my question?"

"Oh, right. Sorry. My name is Leonardo, but you can call me Leo."

I smiled a bit. "That's a nice name. I don't hear it that often."

"Thanks." He sounded a bit bashful. Was he shy? "So... What's your name?"

"Valentina. But I like Val more."

Silence. I frowned.

"Are you still there?" I asked.

"Y-Yeah, uh... Sorry it's just... That's a beautiful name..."

I felt my ears burn. Mom told me that instead of my cheeks getting red when I'm embarassed or shy, my ears do that. So I learned to know when I was blushing.

"Thank you." I said. "Where am I?"

"In the sewers."

I chuckled. "I know that. I meant where am I? Like, I suppose this is your home, but correct me if I'm wrong."

"Oh... Yeah, this is my home. We're in my room to be more specific."

"So... Is this... Your bed I'm laying on?"

"Yeah. Donnie said you needed a place to rest and I thought my bed would be the best option."

"Oh... Thank you. And, um... Sorry for causing you trouble."

I heard him chuckle. "Don't be. It's okay."

I took the blanket off me and swinged my legs around the bed.

"Uh... Do you know where my cane is?"

"Oh. Here." He said as he gave it to me.

"Thank you." I said as I got up.

I smiled. "So... Do you live by yourself, or...?" I'm pretty sure he doesn't, but then again asking doesn't hurt.

"No, I live with my brothers and father. They're just not awake yet, only my father and I are."

"I see."

Just then, my stomach growled.

"Uh..." I trailed off as I bit my lower lip.

He chuckled. "I suppose you're hungry?"

"Yeah... Sorry."

"It's fine. Let me get you something to eat." He said.

I could hear him turning around before turning back to me.

"Want to come along?"

I shrugged. "If you can show me the way, sure."

"Alright, but uh... H-How do I...?"

I chuckled. "Let me put my hand on your shoulder. That's better than grabbing my hand or my arm."

"O-Okay."

Then, I heard shifting. He was close but I couldn't tell for sure where he was.

"Sorry." I said.

"For what?" I heard him saying.

Okay, he is pretty damn close to me!

Still, I swung my cane and hit him low enough to hit his shin.

"Ow!" I heard him yelping.

"For this." I said plainly.

"What'd you do that for?" I heard his asking as I suppose he was hopping on one foot.

"So I could know where you are." I said as I placed my hand on his shoulder.

My eyebrows went up before forming a frown as I felt some sort of leather under my palm.

"Now this is a curious fabric you have on. It's so clear it's a kind of leather, which usually is thick, and yet it's so thin I can almost feel your muscles." I said.

He chuckled on a different way. He seemed nervous.

"Yeah... Funny what you find in the sewers, right?"

"I suppose so."

After that, he guided me to the kitchen and to a chair. On the way, I frowned a bit as I felt something weird, but I relaxed soon enough. I sat down and heard him walking back and forth as he opened cabinets and drawers.

Soon enough I heard him placing a bowl in front of me. He placed it by my hand, so I quickly found it. "Sorry, but we only have cereals."

"It's okay." I said as I smiled.

"Do you have a spoon?" I opened and closed my hand before I grabbed the spoon he gave me.

"Right here."

"Thank you."

With that, I started eating. Not too long after that, Leo sat by my side and started doing the same.

After a while I heard more footsteps. And from the pattern I could tell how many people were there.

Four people. Three as big as Leo and one smaller than me.

"It appears our guest is awake." I heard a voice speaking. It sounded wise and kind. Also, I appeared that it was the smallest person who was speaking.

I nodded. "Thank you for letting me stay for the night."

"You are welcome. I am Master Splinter, the boys' father and mentor."

I nodded again after frowning a bit at his words, this time more like a bow. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Master Splinter. My name is Valentina."

"That's a sweet name dudette! I like it." I heard a chilish voice speaking.

I giggled. "And you are...?"

"Oh, I'm Michelangelo, Mikey for short."

"And what about the other two? I heard your steps by the way."

"Donatello, but you can call me Donnie." The nerdy voice answered.

"Raphael. Or Raph. Whatever you like." Last but not least the grumpy voice spoke.

I smiled. "It's great to meet all of you."
