You've got to be kidding me. She said yes. That made me feel so relieved, but so worried at the same time.

After a bit, I pulled back from the hug.

"Are you sure, though? It'll be really hard." I said.

She nodded, her smile never fading.

"Totally sure. Besides..." She trailed off as she stepped back.

"Uh... Val?" I asked.

Suddenly, her smile faded and she started to use her cane as a sword as she kept trying to hit me.

"Wha-- Ow! Val! What are you doing?!" I asked as I tried to avoid her hits. It shocked me that she managed to hit me a few times.

By instinct, I held her cane with both hands. "Val! Stop it! What are you doing?"

Just then, she bent down her torso enough to make me let go of the cane, and without even having time to react when she kicked me without turning around while she managed to handstand.

"Ow!" I yelped as I stumbled back a bit. And before I could notice, she swung her legs hitting my knees and making me fall.

"Wha--" Before I could say anything, her cane was at my neck.

My eyes widened as I stared into her gray ones.

"What the..." I mumbled.

She smiled and got up. Then she offered me a hand.

When I got up, I couldn't stop staring at her. Then, her hands came from my hand to my face and I flinched a bit when she touched the bump on my head her heel left.

"Sorry. I think I got a bit carried away." She said.

"*Sigh* ... Why did you do that?" I asked as I grabbed her wrists.

"You guys wouldn't believe me if I told you I already know how to fight a bit. So I had to show you." She said as she shrugged.

"Whoa... That was awesome! Val, you were amazing!" Mikey said as he walked up to us.

"How did you know where Leo was?"

"I could hear his voice, breathing and steps." She said smiling before pointing behind her. "Like when I almost hit Raph."

I blinked my eyes in surprise.

"When were you going to tell me?" I asked.

"Tonight. But then you and Master Splinter came with this talk about training me that I decided to leave it aside for a bit."

"Since when you've been training?"

"Since... Two or three months ago. My teacher said I'm a fast learner."

I chuckled. "You sure are. And your blows are fast too. Not to mention strong."

She smiled. "Thank you. Though I only had an idea about it today."

I chuckled. "Yeah, after hitting me."

"Not exactly." She said, which made me frown.

"What do you mean, Val? What happened?"

She shrugged. "Just this bully back at school. Her boyfriend tried to teach me a lesson after I won a discussion against her, and I beated him up. Harder than I hit you."

My eyes widened before I started to feel angry as I noticed something. Her arm was with a faint black bruise over some of her smaller scars that were almost fully healed, I grabbed it and lifted her sleeve up.

"Did he do this to you?" I asked trying not to sound angry.

She nodded. "Yep." She said bluntly. "I broke his nose, though."

I blinked. "... H-How did you..."

She turned around. "Grab me from behind."

"What?"

"Do it."

I rolled my eyes. "You won't hit me, will you?"

"Promise I won't. Not on purpose, that is."

I let out a sigh. Then I did as she told me. And thank God my reflexes are good, because I almost didn't see her elbow coming straight towards my face.

But it suddenly stopped.

"I did it like this." She said.

I let go and she turned around smiling.

"Please, don't get too angry. He only landed a few weak blows. While I did a lot more damage." She said as she pointed at herself before rubbing her arm. "Though I did lose control when he called me helpless, useless and weak."

I shook my head before hugging her.

"It's okay, Val. I'm glad you did it. Because if it was me, he'd be in the hospital right now."

She laughed a bit. "That did make me get a suspension, though. Which made me loose my music class." She said as she pouted a bit.

I chuckled. "I'll talk to Splinter tomorrow morning. Maybe he'll agree on starting your training earlier since you already can kick some butts."

She pulled back and opened a huge smile as she chuckled. "Thanks a lot, Leo." She said as she hugged me tight.

I smiled as I hugged her just as tight.

"I love you." She whispered on my ear, which made my smile get even bigger.

"I love you too." I whispered back. Maybe I was worried for nothing. Still, after what happened to her, I'll never let my guard down. Ever again.
