I See Through You

Chapter. 38

After talking for hours, we were all finally ready to go to bed.

"So, where will Val sleep?" Mikey asked.

"Good question. We don't have a bed big enough for her wings." Donnie said.

"Guys, it's okay. All I need are two ropes, and a big piece of cloth. A blanket will do." I said.

"What are you planning?" Leo asked.

"Making a hammok. It's a bit more comfortable than a normal bed."

"What about a round bed?" Donnie asked.

"Like yours? No, thanks. That's too round for me. My wings are flexible but not that much. Hammocks usually have, well... 'smoother curves', y'know ? It's better for me."

"But how the heck will you make a hammock out of a blanket and ropes?"

I smirked at Raph. "Give me what I asked for and I'll show you."

After that, they managed to get what I asked. Then, I grabbed it and flew up to the pipes and started to analyze them. I put some strands of hair behind my ear as I look around. My hair grew pretty much on the last couple of years. It was quite handful to take care of it, but I honestly like it.

"Let's see... Too thin... Too thick... Too far from each other... Too close... A-ha! Found ya."

Once I found the right pair of pipes, I started doing my work. After some minutes of knotting, I was finally done with my hammock.

So's that, I laid on it and turned to the others.

"Ta-da. How's that?"

"That's awesome!"

"Wow... I must say, that was very creative, Val. Where did you learn how to do that?"

"Back on the farm. My grandpa taught me."

"Are you sure you'll be okay up there? The lair is pretty cold and you know it." Leo said.

I smiled and got down. "Yes, I'm sure of it. Don't worry. After my mutation, my body got stronger, so I can handle a bit of cold."

He chuckled and rolled his eyes. "If you're saying so."

After that, the boys went to their bedrooms. But when I was about to go to my hammock, I felt someone grabbing my hand.

I turned around and saw Leo.

"Leo? Is something wrong?"

"Can I talk with you for a bit? Privately?"

I frowned but soon enough nodded.

With that, he took me outside the lair. And after walking for a while, we left the sewers.

"Okay... What are we doing here?"

"Could you take us up there?" He asked as he pointed to the rooftop of the closest building.

"*Chuckle* I can take us anywhere you'd like."

"Then... How about..."

Turns out Leo wanted to go to my old place, so there we went. When we landed, I crossed my arms and raised an eyebrow.

"So... Why did we have to leave the lair and why did we have to come here, Leo?"

Before I could get any answers, Leo tackled me into a hug.

"... Sorry... It's just that... I wanted to come to where you used to live so you'd feel better, y'know?"
