It's been two days since that night, and I can't keep my mind away from that mutant.

Who is she? How she got to be like that? Shredder mutated her? Stockman? Heck, even Sacks could've mutated her, even without Shredder's orders.

Just then, I heard a signal coming from Donnie's computer. That meant Chief Vincent was calling us. So there we went.

After arriving at the NYCPD building, we quickly met up with her.

"What is it this time, Chief?" Raph asked, cleared annoyed to have to go there again.

"I read your reports. What the heck you mean by 'there's another mutant in town'?"

"With all due respect, Chief, we mean exactly what we wrote on our reports. We were in the middle of a mission when the Purple Dragons tried to ambush us, then, I was falling from a building when that mutant suddenly caught me and brought me back to my brothers. After that, she started beating the Purple Dragons, and left without saying a word." I said.

"Yeah, and as she was beating them, she threw everyone of the group in a dumpster." Raph said.

"So we can presume this mutant is on our side?"

"Based on everything that happened, I suppose that yes, we can." I replied.

"And do you have any clue about who it may be or what kind of mutant it was?"

"All we have is this feather. I've been analyzing it nonstop, but for some reason I can't get anywhere. Sure, I could get that this mutant is a girl, like Leo and Raph mentioned, but what made me even more confused was that this feather has some particles of mutagen and even less particles of the purple ooze in its cell structure." Donnie explained as he pulled out the feather.

My eyes widened with that. Could it be...?

"So what are you saying? That this mutant was created by Sacks and Stockman?"

"I honestly don't know. It could've been Sacks in the same way it could've been Stockman. Or even someone else who managed to get their hands on the mutagen and the purple ooze somehow. If we can get to meet her again, maybe we can ask her a few questions about her origins."

"Then try it as much as possible. We need to make sure that this mutant is on our side."

We all nodded.

"Good. You are all dismissed."

We turned around and started to leave, but...

"Leonardo?"

"Yes, Chief?"

"I'd like to talk with you. May I?"

"Of course. What is it?"

"Any news on Valentina?"

I let out a sigh. "None. Jenny isn't getting any info either. No news there."

"Well, then I guess you'll like to see this." She said as she headed to a computer.

I frowned and followed her, but my frown vanished when I saw what she wanted me to see.

"No way..."

It was the recording of a bakery. And... There she was.

I had no doubts it was Val there. And she looked as stunning as I remember.

"... Where was this recorded?"

"In a bakery in Lenox Hill, close to St. Catherine's Park. It closes at 7 p.m."

"Wha... When was this recorded?"

She pointed at the date. "Yesterday."

My heart leaped with joy. "Val's in the city?!"

"It seems so. You better check that out, though. You never know when she might go back to Brazil."

"Got it. Thanks a lot, Chief!"

"You're welcome."

I can't believe it. She's in the city. Val's in the city! I need to see her, and I need to do that as soon as possible.

It's still 3 o'clock, so I need to wait - Chief Vincent usually lends us a van so we can get to a building with no problem of being seen - but after that, no more waiting. Hopefully, anyways.

Timeskip

After what seemed like an eternity, the sun was setting, and I was just waiting on the rooftop of the building and paying extra attention on whoever got it and got out of the place.

But, so far I haven't seen her.

Then, my walkie talkie kinda of rang.

"Leo, here."

"Hey, Leo. Sorry, but I haven't seen her. I even talked with the people from the staff, but they haven't seen her the entire day either, and she did say she'd be back today." Jennifer said from the other end of the line.

I had to ask someone to help me, and since April, Casey and Vern were working, I called Jennifer. Luckily she was free.

"Look, Leo. I'm really sorry, but I have to go. Raph will get worried." Yep, Jenny and Raph had been living together ever since she got out of her parents' house.

I let out a quiet sigh. "It's okay. Thanks for the help anyways."

With that, she hung up and I let another sigh, this time louder. At least until I saw something, someone sitting on a bench on the park.

"What the... Is that...?"

Before I could do anything, I heard some footsteps behind me.

I turned around already swinging my katana, but stopped when it was blocked and I soon enough felt a blade on my neck.

That was when I realized that it was the same mutant girl from two days ago.

"It... It's you..." I mumbled.
