Maya Hart was one of those girls where you have to get to know her and for her to know you before she accepts you. But it wasn't like that with Lucas Friar. He was the new boy at school. Right when he walked into the classroom she knew he was perfect for her. Accept her best friend Riley Matthews was also crushing on Lucas so she didn't tell Riley about her crush.
"Lucas, do you want to sit by me and Maya at lunch?" Riley Matthews asked Lucas.
"Uh sure. Thanks for asking. It's my second month here and I still am trying to figure out this whole History thing." Lucas replied.
"Yeah, my dad can be pretty crazy. He has funny ways of showing us History." Riley said back.
"Okay well let's get going." Maya said.
The three kids went to lunch and starting eating there food. Maya sat inbetween Riley and Lucas.
"So Lucas, how are you liking the city life. You know it's not all cattle and corn." Maya joked. Even though she liked Lucas she didn't want anyone to know.
"I thinks it's cool even though I expected to see Beyonce dancing down the streets." Maya laughed at his joke. When Riley saw how much fun Lucas was having with Maya she tried to get his attention by falling on the ground. She leaned ball and laid on the floor.
"Lucas help me! I fell trying to pick up my spoon."
"Oh my God Riley. Are you okay." Luca asked.
"Yeah. Now that you helped me."
This made Maya mad. Although she had no reason to be mad. Riley didn't know Maya liked him. Maya left and went to eat the rest of her lunch alone. Riley didn't notice Maya sad. Maya told Riley that she was fine she just had to study for her math test coming up. Which Riley knew was a lie because Maya hates studying but Riley was so memorized by Lucas she didn't care to know the truth.
