It's awkward.
Really awkward.
Like, you can physically feel the tension in the air.
Jacob leans on the far wall as King sits on the opposite side of the room to him, looking anywhere but at him. Billy sits in his chair by Jacob while Charlie sits on the couch, on the very edge, with his hands clasped tight in his lap.
Eventually, Charlie speaks up. "Why."
Kingsley looks at him, confused, but see him glaring at Jacob. Said boy just shrugs small. "She pissed me off." He mutters quietly.
"Oh! Oh, that makes it okay, huh!" Charlie yells. He seems to have more to say than Billy. "She made you mad so breaking her wrist is a reasonable compromise!"
Jacob rolls his eyes, looking at King. "Look, I am sorry. I shouldn't have lost my temper and hurt you."
"Whatever." King whispers, looking at her lap.
"No, not whatever!" Billy snaps - finally. "I don't know what to do with either of you anymore! King, you would have smacked him, you should have! Why didn't you fight back? And Jake, you think your mom would be proud!?"
"You think she'd be happy for me to play house with your dirty little secret!" Jacob yells, King and Charlie jumping in surprise. "You think mom would be happy with any of this? You are filth, you both are! Shame on you!"
"Your mom knew! She knew about Carly, she knew about Tiffany Call and all the others. She loved me no matter what! We were working on it, we were going places. She died before we could make things okay!" Billy yells.
"Yeah? She died because she couldn't face another day with you. Another day knowing you chose that-" He points aggressively at King, "- over your family. You chose dirty whores over your family and that is why she didn't fight to survive." Jacob growls and runs out of the house, into the trees.
King looks down. "I'm sorry..."
Billy looks away. Charlie sits silently for a moment. "King, why don't you go for a walk? Let Billy and I talk." He holds out a 20.
King looks at her dad and uncle for a moment, slowly taking the money as she leaves. She glances back through the glass on the door, Billy breaking down as Charlie pats his arm. She caused this - again. She caused her dad pain, she caused her dad to suffer.
As quick as they appear, King aggressively wipes the tears from her cheeks and climbs into the truck, dropping the visor to see if the keys are there - bingo. She sniffs and reverses back, turning to face the road and speeding away. She doesn't want to be here anymore, she can't. She has caused far too much pain.
'No baby, you cause joy. Not pain.'
King gasps and swerves, gripping the wheel tightly as the voice startles her. her mom - that was her mom's voice! She looks around, in the passenger seat, the road - nothing. Nothing but something running across the road.
Kingsley swerves the car, tears blurring her vision. She screams and closes her eyes tightly as the truck veers off the road and crashes onto a tree. Her chest collides with the wheel, her head smacking on the dash - stupid King didn't wear a seatbelt.
Jacob skids to a stop, his wolf whining as he looks at the sight in front of him. His ears ring and he freezes in the trees across from the scene. No... No, he didn't mean to do that.
Jacob! A voice breaks through.
Seth, call Carlisle. And get Charlie and Billy. He orders, phasing quickly. He's still pulling his shorts on as he runs across the road bare foot, towards the truck.
