"God damn, its hot!" Jacob whistles as he pushes his dad out of the airport, Carlisle, Bella and Embry with him.
"And sunny. We need to be careful." Carlisle says to Bella just as she pulls her sleeves down. They do look a bit odd, all dressed for different seasons; Carlisle wears a shirt and trousers as usual, Bella in jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt. Jacob wears jeans, a t-shirt and a shirt over it and Embry wears his usual shorts and a tank, but with shoes this time.
Billy adjusts his hat. "Let's get this over with, please."
Jacob rolls his eyes and pushes him into the van they hired, jumping up front as Embry puts the bags in. "Let's go." He sings, driving away.
"Why are you so happy?" Billy asks, suspicious.
Jake grins. "Because. Finding this blonde bitch will make King happy."
Billy rolls his eyes as Embry sniggers at the name Jake chooses. They drive to the hotel, resting for the night before they're all up early. Carlisle and Bella head to the old libraries early to see if Clio is mentioned anywhere, while Embry takes Billy to a cafe and to some of the small stores he can access.
Jacob drives to the coast, parking up and looking at the ocean from the cliff he stands on. He doesn't have much of a plan other than walking and sniffing. If that doesn't work, he'll just enjoy his trip. For hours, he doesn't find anything. He walks the cliffs, some of the beaches, visits a few of the ruins. It's at these ruins that he gets a chill, looking around.
Caius stands hidden in the shadows of a tall villa, his arms crossed as he leans on the wall. His eyes are narrowed, his jaw tense, as he stares at Jacob. Jake grins, waving. "There you are!" He says dramatically. "I thought I lost you!"
"Draw anymore attention and I'll break your jaw." Caius snaps, glaring. "Get over here."
Jacob jogs over, smiling. "Didn't think I'd find you, huh."
"I thought I'd have more than 5 days, admittedly." He rolls his eyes. "What do you want? We agreed I'd stay away."
"We agreed you'd stay away, not ignore her." Jacob says, crossing his arms. "You can run as far as you want but don't think you get out of being a brother. You wanted this, buddy."
"And evidently I've wasted my time. She's better off-"
"She isn't. She needs you." Jacob says, scowling. "I hate to admit it, but she does. She needs us all."
"What don't you understand about a curse, mut?" Caius growls, resisting the urge to smack the smug, immature boy.
Jake rolls his eyes. "No, what's that. Never heard of it. Grow up will you? Do you realise how many people I've got in this?"
"You don't think I've had people looking?" Caius rolls his eyes. "I've tried everything."
"Everything you had." Jake smirks. "We got connections. Carlisle has some. His friends, their friends. There is a big wide world about, Caius, you should know that at the ripe ages of 3300 years old."
"I'll cut your tongue out if you don't drop the sarcasm." Caius glares. "Fine. I'll call her. But why did you come?"
"Because I wanted to show you that I have no problem with you anymore. I've accepted you're apart of my life now too. Sadly." Jacob shrugs. "And my dad wants to talk to you."
"Your father. Here. That is funny." Caius smirks bitterly. "Careful he doesn't pop a tyre."
"He's back at the hotel. Though he'd love this place. What is it, anyway?" Jacob looks around, watching some of the tourists peak at the cobbled floors, the stone buildings left standing. The old floors and the towering columns.
