I've attached a song to this chapter :) and yes, I know it's a breakup song but it fits this chapter and what she's going through.

Kingsley finishes another pot of jello as Carlisle, Jacob, Esme and Charlie all stare at her. "What?" She asks innocently.

"You feel okay?" Charlie asks. "Coz you like, almost died 2 days ago."

She shrugs as she licks the spoon. "I'm good. Feel pretty normal actually. Where's Caius?" She asks, hugging her knees.

They all share a look and Jacob nods, everyone slowly leaving the room. He sits beside her on the bed and she accepts, cuddling against him for warmth. "I have to tell you something. And I know you'll think bad of me..."

King frowns and looks up at him. "Unless you hurt someone again, I think I can handle it..."

Jake smiles small and brushes a piece of her hair back before sighing. "I sorta... I noticed a pattern, with how ill you were. It correlated with-with Caius being here."

King frowns. "That's stupid, of course it didn't." She rolls her eyes. "Did you make him leave? That was mean." She sits up, scowling now. "Get him back."

"No." Jacob says simply, watching her face grow mad - he can't help but feel relief that she's mad at him, as silly as it sounds; it feels normal. "That day at the beach - you were feeling better. Then he comes back and you almost die. Every time he left to hunt or call his brothers and coven, you woke up some. Monday was the furthest he's been from you and you wake up more than ever before. It isn't just a coincidence King. Now he's gone and you're basically better? Tell me I'm wrong. I hate being right about this but you know I am."

King looks away as she tears. He is right. She sees it... But it doesn't stop it hurting. She grabs her phone and dials his number, but it goes straight to voicemail. "Caius. Answer the god damn phone! Just because you cant be here doesn't mean you can bail!" She snaps.

She leaves several voicemails, but eventually she breaks down; Jake pulls her close and runs his fingers down her back gently, each sob hurting him as much as her. "I'm so sorry... I'm so sorry for everything but most of all I'm sorry for this. If I could swap places with him and let you have him back, I would. In a heart beat."

"I-I want both of you!" she cries, hitting his chest.

He takes her hand and holds it, most like holds her clenched fist. He rubs his thumb over her knuckles. "I know. And I promise we'll find a way for that to happen in this lifetime. He is meant to be apart of your life no matter what some psychotic bitch did 3 thousand years ago."

"Dont p-promise things you C-can't make happen." She hiccups, her sobs dying down a little.

"I'm not. You've got a lot of people fighting for you King and we're all trying to fix this for you. I promise we will try. Try our best. Is that better?"

"Nothings better." She shakes her head, hiding in his chest.

She cries herself to sleep and he sighs, kissing her head. He looks up as the door opens, Esme stood there with sad eyes; Jake gives a small smile. "Have they take off yet?"

Esme nods. "Jasper and Edward should be in Volterra by morning."

Jacob nods. "Thank you. Will you sit with her? I need to do something."

Esme smiles and nods, eager to hug the poor girl, the girl who's almost become a surrogate daughter to her. She carefully moves to where Jake laid, thankful she wore a thick, knit cardigan today so King won't get cold. Jacob hesitates and squeezes Esme's shoulder for a moment before he leaves, running outside and out of sight, stripping quickly before he phases.
