Eli's POV
I lay on the cold, hard concrete of the car park. I felt lightheaded and queasy. I could taste a mix of the metallic and salty flavours.
"Freaks like you should die." I heard those words echo in my mind as footsteps echo in a cave.
Freaks like you should die.
Freaks like you.

After a few minutes, or maybe an eternity, I heard a scream and someone rushing over.
"O my God oh my God Eli are you ok oh my God oh my God Caleb come here now." The voice said, without pausing once.
A cold hand grasped my head, wiping the liquid from my lips. I struggled to keep my eyes open, but it was no use. Everything was going very black very quickly.
~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up in a bed that wasn't my own, nor was it a hospital bed.
Thank God, I thought, my parents would've killed me.
As I woke up, I saw that Leanne was sitting by the side of the me, on a chair. She was playing on her phone, and ons of her legs was resting across mine.
After a lot of pain and effort, I ushered out a small "Hey." She turned to me, and her eyes widened. She lifted her leg off the bed, walked over and sat on the side of the bed, so she was facing me.
"How do you feel?" She said stroking my head, brushing the hair out of my face.
Instead of coming up with an answer, I just moaned sue to the aching pain in my cheek.
"Where does it hurt?" She asked. I pointed to my cheek, the same cheek that was cracked by that weighted ball, thrown by Leanne. How times have changed.
She said: "I see. I'll get an ice pack in a little while. I'm really sorry. I'm an idiot for practically forcing you to talk to him. You did nothing wrong. I just thought that he was just scared to talk to you, or something. Anyway, I'll get a pack of frozen peas. Be back in a sec." She said, leaving the room. I pulled the covers over my face, so I couldn't see anything but the lilac bedsheets.
I felt some slender arms around my neck, which made me blush. My hands curled around the corners of the sheets, pulling them up a little, so I could see.
The arm didn't belong to Leanne, though, unless she grew 2 1/2 feet in a few minutes. The arm retracted, making me come face to face with Caleb. He smiled. I did too.
I patted the bed next to me, where Leanne previously sat. He blushed, but sat down, and patted my head, caressing my forehead with his thumb. It made me blush.
"Hey, Caleb. L-Look, don't worry. I'm okay, m-my cheek and nose just h-hurts a bit. Aidan hates m-me. But t-that's okay. You a-and Leanne are all I need." I smiled, despite the pain that was making my cheek ache more. He blushed at this, and curled some of my hair with his finger.
"Alright, alright, stop flirting, you two." Leanne stood at the door, with a pack of what looked like frozen sweet corn in her hand. This made me turn bright red, and Caleb stood up straight quickly.
She came over to me and placed the bag on my cheek, which made the aching pain reduce to a small jabbing at the side of my nose.
"Stay here. Caleb and I will be back in a minute. Don't move." She walked out of the room, dragging Caleb with her.
~~~~~~~~~~~
They both came back, Leanne carrying bags of chocolate and sweets, and Caleb carrying a box that was A4 sized.
"Come downstairs. We're going to get really far and play Mario Kart on my old wii I found." She said, gesturing me to get out of bed and walk down the stairs.
