Aidan's POV
Leanne and I had been talking on both email and skype for almost a month now, and it was nearly Christmas.
What can I say; she's perfect. She has a beautiful body, she's really smart, and she can speak and write correctly, not like a five year old. She is sweet and always knows what to do. I mean, if I hadn't talked to her, I still would be hanging around with that fag.
As I walked into school, I saw Elijah and his two friends laughing and talking. Weirdos.
"They're freaks, innit?" I heard a voice from behind me. When I realised he was talking to me, I nodded and said "Totally." He spat on the girl, who replied with: "Hey Derek! I know you're still pissed at me, but can you not? Ugh." He grunted and walked away, gesturing for me to follow him, which I did.
"Hey, you know the one in the middle?" He said.
"the girl?" I clarified. He nodded. He leaned it to my ear and said "Total tranny." I was shocked by this.
"Really? It looks so convincing." He nodded.
"I know. It used to be my friend, before he tried to get me in bed with it, by dressing up all nice and shit. Hey, you might remember it when it was a dude. Liam, his name was. He threw that ball that had the weight in it in the face of that faggy weirdo." I remembered that. Back when I was still new here, that dude called. Elijah all those names, and his best friend hit him with the ball. That means...
"You got kicked in the nuts by Lawrence?" I asked before I had time to think. He laughed.
"Yeah, what a weird guy. Everyone thinks he's some kind of scary dude, but I know he's a coward. Probably some queer guy who sucks dicks in his spare time." He said. "Anyway, dude, weren't you friends with that nerdy guy?"
"nah. Well, I was, but it was only a joke. I would never actually want to be friends with some weirdo like that. I just wanted to see how much he would fall for it."
"And how did it go?"
"It was hilarious. He said to me that he likes to think about me. You know... Like that."
"What a fucking queer. So I guess saying that shit was just doing you a favour, right?"
"Fuck yeah."
"Anyway dude, do you want to sit with me, my girlfriend and the rest of the football team? We thought you were some gay at the beginning, but you seem cool."
"Sure thing, See you then."
Derek left, and as I turned around, I saw Elijah with tears in his eyes.
"It was all... A joke?"

I was in the middle of a free lesson, and I was sitting next to Derek.
I received an email from Leanna.
Hey. I'm free on Christmas eve. We can be alone... Together ;). We could have some fun...
I think I actually jumped out of my seat.
"Calm down, dude, what's up?"
I sighed.
"I'm gonna be alone with this really hot chick overnight." I said, grinning.
"Seriously dude? That's great. This will be your first time getting some, right?" I nodded.
"Alright. Tell me how it goes, dude."
I decided to quickly text back Leanne.
Don't you get offers from hundreds of guys? Why me?
They don't bother. I may be flirty, but I don't just get in bed with anyone. Though, there is this one guy, who's really clingy. His mom is really oblivious, too, it's brilliant. I love poking fun at that weirdo.

As I was walking out of school and into the car park, I felt a small tug on the bottom of my shirt that felt strangely familiar.
I turned around, only to see...
"Great." I said.
"U-um, I just wanted to s-say that, u-um, I'm really, r-really sorry. For liking you, f-for being a freak, for n-not being able to s-speak properly and for being g-gay." He was playing with his hands and looking down, his head hung.
I saw Derek out of the corner of my eye, his eyebrows raised. So, I punched Elijah. As hard as I could, I punched him. He fell to the ground, his nose bleeding. "Freaks like you should die." I said.

As I got home, my mom was in the kitchen.
"Hey, sweetie;" she said, "How was school today?" She walked into the living room, with a coffee in her hand.
"Hey, mom, it was fine. Listen, can I stay over my friend's house for Christmas Eve? He's going to be alone and I don't want him to be." I said. Why does she need to know the truth?
"Well, why don't you invite him over here? If he's going to be alone." She said. Stupid. Why didn't she just let me go?
"Uh, no, he's not allowed to go out of his house. Please, mom?" I pleaded. Whenever I had to convince my mom of something, I always ended up losing some dignity along the way.
"Um, okay, fine. But you are to be here by Christmas morning. You might not think it, but we really want you here, especially the people who don't have to put up with you every day." She warned. I sighed. Whatever. If I could get Leanne for one night, I didn't mind having to put up with annoying people for another.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was Christmas Eve morning, and all of the lights and the tree were up. My cousin, Elliott, who was about 13, was talking with my mother. He waved to me, which I smiled back.
Though, he and his mother would be the only people staying here for Christmas, as the whole point of moving away from the US was to get as far away as possible from any and all people in case my mom and dad split.
For almost all of the day, I just listened to music or talked to Elliott. But in the evening, that was when I would have some fun. Or so I thought.
(Alrighty. The song for this chapter is Riptide by Vance Joy! I like that song :))
