~Kaiden POV~
No fucking way, this was not happening to me.
One night that's all.We only hooked up once and now I am going to pay for it for the rest of my life. Of all the people I could have gotten knocked up it had to be Laura fucking Evans. I know it was a dick move to walk away from her but what other choice did I have? If I had of stayed I would've said something I'd regret later on. Laura was nice and everything but totally not my type, I didn't go for brunettes. I also didn't go for girls who didn't have a decent sized bra cup, it was just the way I was.
Walking into Pablo's Mechanics I couldn't stop myself from wondering how she was dealing with everything and what she was planning on doing about our situation. I skipped school which wasn't unusual for me, I would rather work with my cousin at his shop than sit in a boring class room with people I hated. As soon as I stepped through the door my cousin, Julian, could tell something was wrong.
"What's up your ass? You look like shit."
I scoffed, "Thank for compliment ass hole."
"So? Something happen at school today?"
"Yeah, you could say that." I replied, grabbing a spanner from a large black tool box sitting against the far wall.
Rolling out from under a car he fixed me with a stern look, "What did you do?"
"What makes you think I did anything?"
"Because I know you." He replied, arching his eye brow in my direction.
Sighing I started work on an old car someone had brought in. "Okay maybe I did do something, I just don't know what to do."
"Maybe I could help if you told me what it is you actually did?"
"Okay," I laughed before turning my expression serious. "I got a girl pregnant."
Julian goes silent, the muscle in his jaw clenching and un-clenching as he decides what to say. Saying the words out loud made them seem so much more real and I would be lying if I said I wasn't completely shitting myself.
"Do you like this girl?" He asks, breaking the long silence.
I shook my head, "It was a drunken one night stand that should never have happened to begin with."
"What are you gonna do? You can pick up more shifts here if you need to."
"Thanks but I don't even know."
"You can't abandon her." He lectured, looking shocked that I would even try to bail.
Pulling a cigarette out of my pocket I lit the end and drew back on the smoke, letting it fill my lungs. I knew I couldn't abandon her and my child but I don't necessarily want to be a parent at seventeen either.
"I'm not going to abandon her."
My cousin gave me a sceptical look, "Then what are you going to do? What did you say when she told you?"
"Nothing, I walked away and came here."
"Oh Jesus." Swearing he ran his hands down his face, "You are doing a great job so far."
"Shut up, I just don't know what to do."
"Here's an idea, talk to her, support her and pray to god her dad doesn't have a gun."
"Thanks." Rolling my eyes sarcastically, I smiled at my cousin.
Smiling he bows quickly, "Being attractive isn't all I'm good at little cousin, I am also a great counsellor. When you sort your shit out with this girl bring her round, I wanna meet her."
