Laura's POV
Days had passed and I still hadn't spoken to Kaiden. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get the images of him and that girl, together, out of my head. I hadn't really left my bedroom since that night, trying desperately not to have to speak to him.
Mom had come in a few times to try and coax me out of hiding but it was useless, I wasn't leaving. Tying my oily hair into a high bun I collapsed back onto the soft cushions that were piled on my bed. Today I would have to leave my room and go to school. Dread swirled in my gut at the thought, everyone would know by now about what happened.
"Laura dear, are you up yet?" Mom questioned gently through the closed bedroom door.
Sitting, I called back. "I'm up, I'll just have a shower and then I'll have some breakfast."
"Alright, darling." She replied before the sound of her shuffling footsteps moved down the hall.
Sliding off the bed I held back a groan as my stiff muscles aches in protest at the sudden movement. I'd pretty much spent the past four days in bed, only ever getting up to go to the bathroom or to put on a new movie.
Lexi had popped by once but didn't stay long, my melancholy attitude became too much for her after a while. Slowly, I walked into the bathroom, stripped off my stale clothes and turned on the shower. Steam filled the small room as I stepped under the warm water.Stretch marks snaked up my stomach now. Tracing one with my finger I smiled down at my belly. Not long now until I would be holding my son, the thought was terrifying and exciting all at the same time.
After washing my hair I quickly dried myself, as best I could with a beach ball for a body, and dressed myself in a tight maxi-dress and cardigan. With my hair still being damp I decided to pile the strands into a high bun before applying a little bit of makeup. As I observed myself I was happy to see that I was starting to look a little bit more like myself.
Gone were the dark bags and red cheeks from days of crying and no sleep. Although my eyes that were normally such a vibrant blue were now a dull grey, I actually looked like myself.
"Well don't you look lovely," Mom gushed as I walked into the kitchen. "I cooked your favourite, French toast with bacon."
"Thank you," Smiling I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before taking a seat at the table. "I've got some catching up to do today for an Art project so I'll be home late."
"Alright," Nodding, she took a sip from her mug. "Have you spoken to him yet?"
It had taken an entire day for me to finally tell her what had happened. Kaiden had decided to spend a few days with Julien, his way of giving me space I suppose.
"No," I replied.
"When is he coming home?" She questioned. "He's been gone for a few days now."
"I asked him to stay away and that what he's doing." Pushing the plate away, suddenly not hungry, I stood from my place and threw my book bag over my shoulder. "I'll see you when I get home."
I didn't wait for her to answer instead I just walked out to my car, put the key in the ignition and drove away.

"So is it true?" A girl with black hair questioned in English.
"Is what true?" I replied.
Casting a look between her friend and me, she smiled. "That you and Kaiden are over."
