"You're awfully quiet which is unlike you" Jace says and I tear my eye from staring out at the road to his sideways glance. We're already nearing the dorms and I'm relieved because I need to get out of these clothes

"I'm just suddenly realising that I don't know a lot about you. For example, you have a car and you made me walk around campus, then you have a house?" My statement finishes rather as a question

I'm not mad at him but just surprised that I've known him for quite a while but it feels like I don't know anything about him. I don't know if he didn't want me to know or it just didn't come up. It's not even that it's a big deal, I'm just stirring the conversation away from the bubbly feeling I get when I remember last night

"Does that change anything? I'm coming in" he parks the car in front of the dorm and hops out

"Good question. It doesn't" I fall in step behind him as we walk to my room "So are we cool? Friends again?" I give him a weird smile as I step in front of him, walking backwards so that I can guage his face

He just grins widely at me and then I bump into someone "Watch it" the girl snaps and walks passed me but not before brushing my shoulders violently

"Sorry!" I call out after her "So violent" I murmur to myself before turning to Jace whose shoulders are shaking in laughter "You just couldn't tell me I was about to bump into someone"

He starts running away with his laughter escaping from his formerly sealed lips. I pursue him down the hall while girls around give us weird looks

He produces a key when we get to my room and unlocks the door. I stare at him as he saunters into the room

"Muna gave me her key" he says and sits at my desk, landing his feet on my table

"I don't understand this new found friendship between you two" I tease and throw his feet off of my table

I sigh and lean on the desk "Welcome back my friend, what's the plan for today?" I grin at him. He smiles as he realises I'm teasing him

"I haven't gone to that pie restaurant since we last went, so maybe we can go there for breakfast?"

"Oh God, yes! That's touching though, you haven't gone there since" I groan and dump myself unceremoniously on my bed

"You're paying" his green eyes stare playfully at my face and I resist the urge to wringle his neck

"It's no longer touching" I glare before fishing my phone from my pocket and sending a text to both my dads for good luck on their oncoming project

"None of my business, short cakes" he winks and goes back to typing away on his phone. I get up from the bed with the intent to pick up an outfit but not before flicking the back of his head

"So what does it feel like to be a local celebrity. I have had my ears full this past week with gossiping" I roll my eyes while shifting a bunch of tops I had bought recently and haven't found the time to wear

"Are you an eavesdropper?" I can hear the smirk in his voice without even having to face him

"Not my fault that I have the best kind of ears" I flip my hair and throw him a smile over my shoulder

"Didn't your mother ever tell you not to believe in rumours?" He comments and my body stifles from shock. I try to calm my twitching nerves so that we don't have to go back down the road we just came off from.

I have never been comfortable talking about my mother and with what happened last time, I'm not looking forward to it

"Breathe" he's holding my arm and turns me face him. His eyes hold worry for me and I hate him having to see me that way "My mom jokes have never really been on their best game" he grins widely at me

I swallow my feelings to the pit of my stomach, shutting my mind from my mother for the moment and mirror his smile

"Are you now a paramedic?" I tease

His eyes glint and his smile doesn't relent when he notices that I've calmed down. His face inches closer to mine "I've been told I give quality CPR"

I smirk "You've been told huh? How many quality services have you unfortunately had to pass?"

I bite my lips as we are now probably breathing the same air. His green orbs are boring holes into my eyes. My wardrobe digs into my back as I'm leaning deeply into it but it's the least of my worries at the moment

"I can wipe my slate clean for you. All you need to do ask" his hand is now under my chin. He lifts my face up into the light

A rush of heat floods my face and I suck in a harsh breath. A grin spreads on my face from the intensity of his gaze on me. He looks like he's about to say something when the door comes open

Both our heads snap to Muna who stands frozen at the door frame, gapping at us like she's seen a ghost

Jace sighs heavily and dumps his large head on my shoulder, not even bothering to move from the compromising position that has Muna frozen

I place my palms on his hard chest and push him till he takes the cue to get off. He smiles brightly at me before turning to sit back down at my desk

I grab whichever clothes and my toilet necessities before finally facing Muna who is grinning happily at me

"Didn't you say you were staying back?" Jace asks her

"Well I came back for something really essential but that now seems like a major bad idea since I cock-blocked on the best make out session ever known to mankind" she sequels happily

I roll my eyes and push her out of my way. I quicken my pace in embarrassment and run off to the bathroom

"You can't run away from me! We'll talk about it!" She calls out behind me. These are literally one of those moments where I wish aliens would invade the planet
