"Mom?" I walk into the apartment warily before looking around. I sigh when i see her passed out on the couch, needle in hand.

To normal people this would be a heart breaking scene, but after fifteen years of this, it becomes routine.

Cleaning her up, i throw the needle away and cover her with a blanket before heading to my room. I lock myself in the small room and i study for the rest of the night.

The next morning i get up and get ready for school. I shower and change into a plain white t-shirt and some messy ripped jeans with my same old sneakers.

I walk out of the apartment throwing my hair up, not bothering to say bye to my still sleeping mother.

Just like every other day i go to school by foot, constantly looking over my shoulder- watching out for my personal group of bullies.

Maybe im looking out too much because before i know it, I make it to school and am running straight into someone's back, causing me to fall back, landing on my butt.

"I'm so sorry." I hiss lightly as i squeeze my eyes tightly due to embarrassment. "Don't worry about it," an unfamiliar voice fills my ears, "Here let me help you."

I open my eyes to see a tall handsome carmel colored boy in front of me. His hand extended out to me, offering to help me up.

A hypnotizing smile plastered over his face, "I'm okay-" i go to get up, but he grabs my hand regardless, effortlessly pulling me to my feet, "I insist."

I can feel my cheeks flush pink as our faces are only a few inches apart. "Kim Taehyung," He steps back to bow, "Im new here."

Makes sense.

Why else would he talk to me?

I only smile and nod. "What's your name?" I open my mouth to speak, but I'm caught off by Jessica, Charlie's best friend.

"Why hello there." She jumps between us, making me stumble backwards a little. "Hello im Taehyung." He smiles politely at her before bowing his head. Sighing i take off quickly to my first hour.

He'll hate me by third hour.

"Hey is anyone sitting here?" I look up, hoping to see the new kid, but instead im met by Hoseok, one of the popular boys from Yoongi's friend group.

"Uh," i look around at the clearly empty lunch table, "No." I look back down at my math notes, expecting him to take the seat away to his overly crowded table, but instead he sits down.

"I hope I'm not interrupting you." He sits close to me, making me a bit nervous, "No," i shrug, "I'm fine." Chuckling he nods, gaining my full attention.

He's one of the hot assholes that can make anyone falk for him if he wanted to. "So," he scratches the back of his neck nervously, "I was wondering if you wanted to get dinner sometime?"

My heart pounds with his words and i can feel my temperature rise and my cheeks go pink.

I haven't been asked out since the 7th grade.

"Sure?" I smile widely at him nodding. "Okay," he nods, "What do you want to eat?" Flustered, i only shrug. "Burgers? Pasta?" "Pasta sounds-" He cuts me off "How 'bout a bowl of meth?"

With that my heart stops and my smile fades at he laughs loudly at me. Soon laughter springs from behind us and i turn to see the boys and Charlie and her friends.

"I think chocolate milk will do." Jessica squints before opening a carton of milk and pouring it over my head.

Standing up i gasp, looking at my math notes that are now completely drenched in chocolate milk. Grabbing my bag i turn to run out of the Cafeteria.

"Woah," He chuckles as i run straight into his chest, "We have to stop meeting like this." His smile almost stops my tears from falling.

"What happened," he wipes the milk from my face, "Are you okay?" I can hear sincerity in his voice, but i don't know if i should believe him.

I look up to see a concerned expression on his face, only making my heart ache a bit more. He grabs napkins from the nearest table and wipes my face and hair down.

"Hey Taehyung," Jessica calls, "Come over here." He doesn't seem to hear her because he's too focused on helping me clean up.

I can feel eyes on us from everywhere in the cafeteria and i get more nervous than before. "Here," he takes off his bright red jacket and holds it out to me, "You can wear this instead of you're chocolate milk-ey shirt."

"Oh i can't-" i put my hands up but he chuckles, "Please take it," he puts it over my arms, "It's the least i can do."

I nod slowly accepting it from him. "Taehyung!" Jessica yells impatiently, stealing his attention away from me. "I'll be right there." He smiles innocently.

"I'll wash your jacket and give it back to you tomorrow." I keep my head down, my hands tracing the soft fabric. "Keep it," he smiles, "consider it my way of saying thank you."

"For what?" I laugh a bit nervously and he leans down to whisper in my ear, "For being the only genuine person at this hell of a school."

I can feel my face heat up as he steps back again. "I'll see you later?" Nodding i look down at his jacket,

"Maybe."
