7th period.
Yuk.
Sitting in the back i look down at the test the teacher placed in front of me. It looks fairly easy, but I'm still worried.
Mostly due to the several sets of eyes that stare and judge every single move i make. Looking up i meet Charlie's eyes and she squints at me.
I look around to see Yoongi, Hoseok, Jungkook- my typical bullies. All of their eyes on me of course, probably asking themselves why someone like Tae would be with someone like me.
And i honestly don't blame them- I'm asking myself the same exact question.
I turn my focus back to my test and taking a deep breath, i start to answer. I studied for this test- just like every other- so it's extremely easy. I'm done withing twenty minutes.
After everyone else is done, chatter picks up around the room and i start studying for an upcoming math test since i have nothing better to do.
"Hey Winter, " I hear Charlie's voice but i ignore it. "Hey," i flinch when Jungkook yells, "she's talking to you." Fearfully, i turn to look at the bitch.
"So," she looks over me, "You and Taehyung are like... Together?" I only nod, not wanting to give her any reason to continue talking, but apparently she doesn't need one.
"You know he was supposed to go with-" "Jungkook's sister to homecoming," i nod, "Yeah i know." They're all taken back and scoff.
"How do you sleep at night," she huffs, "Knowing that you steal innocent girls men-" "He was never even hers," i cut her off, "He never agreed to go."
They don't say anything, "He's been here not even a month and you guys jumped to conclusions. You thought he'd love to be the popular kid," i laugh, "But he's nothing like you guys."
"He's weak-" Yoongi tries to cut me off, but i snap back. "He's perfect," I shrug, "And his pinky finger is worth more than all of you guys combined."
They all stare at me in shock as the bell rings. Gathering my things i walk out of class, eager to see my boyfriend.
I skip to our usual meeting place and smile when i see him, "Hey, Tae." Smiling he grabs my bag from me, "Hey beautiful."
He leans down to peck my lips, making my heart sing. "How was your test?" We start walking toward the apartments, "Easy," i shrug, "How was your day?"
"Good, then bad," he frowns, "Then good- then bad again." "Why?" I laugh at him and he chuckles, "Because i started off the day with you- good," he smiles,
"Then i went to class- bad. Next came lunch where i got to see you- good-" i look down blushing harder than ever, "Are you okay?" He lifts my chin to inspect my face.
"Never better."
~
"Woah," he sounds surprised, "You stood up to them?" I grab a few more chips and stuff them in my mouth nodding, "You should've seen their faces."
Chuckling he sits down on my bed, "I've taught you well, Winter." I giggle and nod, setting the chips next to him, "Do you have any plans this weekend?"
"Nope," He shakes his head, "Why?" "Well," I take a deep breath sitting by him, "They're throwing another pool party this weekend and i was wondering if you'd want to go?"
"Like a date?" He smirks grabbing my hands, "Yeah," i blush, "Since we haven't had an official date yet..." "Sounds great." He leans forward to peck my lips.
"I might not be like those pretty girls," i sigh, "Dressed up in two piece bikinis-" "Princess why do you worry about that," he looks at me concerned, "You're the most beautiful person I've ever met, inside and out."
I wasn't prepared for that and my eyes start to water and i can't respond. "Don't cry." He chuckles and cups my face, careful of the bruise that still sits on my cheek.
I nod and move my hands up to grab his shirt. Pulling him to me i connect our lips, never wanting to move from this moment with him.
"Taehyung!" We're caught by surprise by Charles banging on the front door. "I'll get it." He sighs getting up and walking into the living room.
I follow behind him as he opens the door, "What?" He asks Charles blankly. "Your father is here." With that he leaves and i walk to Tae's side.
"Come on," he grabs my hand, "I want to introduce you to my dad." Seeing him all smiley makes me giddy, "Wait!" I stop to run my hands through my hair and straighten my outfit.
He chuckles and grabs my hand, "Don't worry," he leads me outside, "He doesn't bite."
We near the end of the stairs and i can see a familiar figure standing on the sidewalk smiling at us. He's in a blue officer uniform and my smile fades.
"Dad," Tae smiles, "This is-" "Miss Cee Winter." He smiles and shakes my hand, "Nice to see you again Officer Kim." "How's your mother doing?"
Tae looks at us completely confused. "She's actually out right now," I shrug, "But she'll be home soon." "Did she leave you again-" "Wait," Tae chuckles, "How do you too know each other?"
"Remember that case i took a few years back," He asks, "when we found a young girl living on her own-" "Can we not talk about that?" I cut him off.
"She was forced into the system for a year before her mom came back," Tae looks at me worried, "I helped calm her when you brought her into the station."
Memories flow through my mind of the time i spent at the station-
*flashback*
"Whats wrong," The goofy boy sits by me on the bench, "Why are you crying?"
I jump when he wraps his arms around me, but eventually i melt into it and return the hug, "My mommy is gone."
"Where?" He looks at me confused, "Did she die?" Shaking my head i wipe my tears, "No," i turn to look at the older boy, "She said she went to work."
"Maybe she's late?" He asks innocently. "She's been gone for fourteen days." "Don't be sad," he smiles at me, "My daddy is going to help you."
*end flashback*
I can see my shock mirrored in the two boys in front of me. "You were in foster care for a year?" He looks almost disgusted, "What mother does that to her kid?"
I look down fiddling with my hands nervously, "She came back though-" "Did she get clean?" Tae's dad asks me curiously.
"You can inspect the apartment if you want." I shrug, not telling him the answer. "Is she home?" He makes his way up the stairs and we follow him.
"No." Is all i can make out as we step into the apartment and officer Kim starts inspecting the place.
"I see you two are close friends." He walks out carrying Tae's backpack. "Actually," Tae grabs my hand, making him stop, "Dad, Winter is my girlfriend."
"What?"
