Chapter 16 (Push it)

Michelle and Laf had gotten back from their honeymoon when a boy came up very urgently.

"Mrs.Lafayette, Mrs. Laurens has gone into labor and asked me to send you there," The boy said out of breath and quickly. She gave Laf her bags and he nodded, she ran off with the boy to Tatiana's.

"Where is she?," Michelle came in.

"Oh thank God, you're back," John got up and hugged Michelle as she hugged back and they let go.

"Oh, Michelle, your turn, I think she broke my hand," Kylie said looking at her swollen knuckles.

"Yikes,"Michelle ran to the back and opened the door.

"Oh my Lord, We're close but I did not need to see that,"Michelle ran over to her best friend and shut the door behind her.  

"Push Laurens," The midwife sat at the edge of the bed. Tatiana held Michelle's hand and pushed screaming in pain. She was sweaty and in very much pain.

"I can't do it, I can't," She cried.

"Yes you can Tati, You are a strong, Independent woman and you are going to be one hell of Momma!," Michelle said with sass. Tatiana nodded and pushed the hardest she could.

Tatiana set her head down and heard the cries of her child.

"Tati, it's a Girl," Michelle smiled brightly. Tatiana recognized that glow from anywhere especially on her own face. She didn't say anything about it. 

"Send John in," Tatiana said as she got to hold her swaddled little baby girl. Michelle got John and brought him and left the two alone.

"What are we going to name her?,"Tatiana asked John.

"A girl, I have a baby girl, I'm a Papi,"John cried and hugged both of them.

"Layla, I like Layla,"Tatiana smiled at him.

"Cathleen for her middle name too," Tatiana said looking up at John.

"And Laurens is her last name," John said.

"Deal," Tatiana kissed him.

Their little family had become complete, John couldn't have been more prouder if he could. Tatiana loved her family dearly. 

Michelle and Kylie came in, as the midwife had left.

"She's so tiny," Kylie smiled and came up to the family.

" I know I'm so in love," Tatiana held Layla's tiny hand on her finger.

"I'm so happy for you," Kylie smiled.

"She really is and me too, but um the guys are here," Michelle said.

"Let's keep them outside, they don't need to see Tatiana like this, come back tomorrow if you can, if that's okay with Anna?," John asked, looking at Tati.

"Yeah, I want to spend time with this little one for a bit," She smiled at the sleeping baby.

Michelle and Kylie walked out and wished them well and sent the guys home and went with them.

"She's finally here, and think over 3 years ago we just met," She smiled.

"And you still lookin fine as hell momma, how do you do it," John chuckled.

"I've had great training and practice when I got a boy for a husband," She said with a hint of sarcasm, causing John to gasp.

"She still got that attitude from over 3 years ago," He shook his playfully.

"Oh shh," she rubbed Layla's back softly and gently.

"But I wanna hold my baby too," He pouted his lip.

"Take off your coat and blouse first, she needs skin on skin contact," Tatiana said. John sighed and took his coat and shirt off and had open arms. Tatiana slowly handed Layla to John.

"She's small, I'll always protect you baby girl, ain't gonna let no boy mess with you, you'll always gonna be daddy's girl," He said to her, causing Tatiana to giggle.

"Aye, I'm serious, ain't no one gonna love her more than her daddy," he said.

"Whateva you say Laurens," Tatiana chuckled.

  "Hey Tati," John looked at her.

"Yes John," She looked at him.

"I love you so much, thank you for sticking by me throughout these years, since the day I met you I knew you were the one for me, you stayed with my goofy self, even when I was acting dumb you forgave me, You taught me, patience and love, and now I'm a father because of you,Thank you Tatiana," John said.

"John, I knew I too, that night, there was a spark in your eyes, something special, something warm, You made me laugh, cry, smile, and all of the above, it takes two people to keep a relation together, and I wouldn't have it any other way, You made me a wife and a mother and I couldn't ask for more," She caressed his cheek.

"I love you Tatiana Laurens,"He grinned, looking down upon her face.

"I love you too John Laurens," She smiled and kissed him. John got up and put Layla in her nursery room and came back. He got ready for bed and helped Tatiana up. He changed the sheets as he ran a nice hot bath for her. The sheets were warm, the candles were lit, and everything felt like it was coming all together. They became a really happy family.

No one was going to stop their happiness, they wouldn't allow it. No matter how many curve balls life threw at them. They had each other, their friends, and family. Now there was Layla,

Tatiana and John would do anything to see their little girl succeed in life.

Michelle sat at home and ate some baguettes, she looked at Laf as he was talking to Washington, They explained about how his granddaughter was born and Tatiana was resting. Washington was happy and wanted to tell Martha right away.

Michelle got up and walked away she ran to the nearest bucket and threw up. Lafayette had ran to his wife. 

"Michelle, are you okay?," Washington asked.

" I'm fine, I probably have a bug," She said as she threw up again.

"Ma cheri, Let's get you cleaned up and I'll lay out some nice sheets," Laf said as he picked her up.

"I'll go and leave y'all alone, Martha is probably worried, see you soon," Washington nodded and walked out.
