The Laurens' and Hamilton's came back to their homes after a good couple weeks from the cabin. What Kylie wasn't expecting was to find Maria at her doorstep. On the other side of town John had gotten right back to work to abolish slavery. While across the oceans Michelle and Jefferson were getting closer.

"Maria," Kylie asked confused as Alex and the Philp were taking luggage inside. Well Philip tried to help put luggage inside.

"Daddy it's too heavy,"Philip whined as Alex grabbed Philip's bag.

"Hey sis," Maria sadly smiled. Maria looked terrible, her dress looked faded, she reeked of alcohol and her dress torn, she looked pale and sick. Kylie could barely handle looking at her wondering what happened in the past couple weeks without Maria by her side.

"Let's get you cleaned up," Kylie grabbed her hand. Maria flinched and pulled her hand back.

"I don't deserve your hospitality," Maria looked down and fiddled with her dress.

"You're my big sister get inside now," Kylie grabbed her sister's hand and dragged her inside to clean her up, ignoring Maria's protest.

"Tati, I ran out of ink again," Johned yelled across the house. Tatiana left Layla in her crib asleep and same with Max. She grabbed the thing of ink from the storage room and ran up the stairs and gave it to John.

"Love you," John kissed her cheek and smiled taking the ink from her soft hands. He set it down.

"I love you too, but I got to get dinner started," Tatiana began to walk away, but John took her hand and pulled her on his lap.

"Wanna cuddle?," John whispered in her ear.

"We can cuddle later sweety," She booped his nose and got up to go to the kitchen and prepare dinner. John sighed sadly and kept writing.

"But it's cuddle night," John said sadly to himself.

Lafayette and Jefferson discussed the terms and the war of France while Michelle watched them go back and forth.

"I don't understand why don't we just ask Washington about it, I mean y'all did help us defeat the British," Michelle said. They both looked at her confused as if they forgot she was there.

"She's got a point," Laf nodded, Thomas shrugged. Alice was sitting on Martha's lap, smiling as she watched her aunt knit a scarf of many colors.

"Yeah, but we have to think about debt, guns, finance, and even if we win this war, and so on, I might need Sally's help," Jefferson said, causing Martha to sigh sadly and continue. Michelle knew the relationship between Thomas and Sally, and she had a feeling Martha knew too.

"I can help, I'm capable of doing anything, I was trained by Washington himself when I was a kid," Michelle said.

" I know he did," Thomas shook his head and groaned sitting down and resting.

"So what do we do now?,"Laf asked, confused.

"For now we stick with Michelle helping out, I trust my sister with my life," Thomas looked at Michelle and nodded. Michelle nodded back in agreement.

"So he kicked you out, and the only way you've been surviving lately is sleeping with other men from bars, and taking their meals?," Kylie asked as she helped detangle Maria's nappy hair. Maria looked down with hot tears rolling down her face.

"Are you two still married?," Kylie asked, wiping Maria's tears and setting the brush down.

"Yes, but last week he took me back found all the men I had slept with and black mailed them for money so he wouldn't tell their wives,"Maria looked down feeling shamed.
