"CJ...CJ, wake up," you said softly, shaking the orange gem in the passenger seat. She had fallen asleep about ten minutes after you started driving, and you knew this only because she began snoring quietly. You didn't like waking people up, but you had made it to your destination. You sighed, rolling your eyes. "Jasper...," you whined, dragging her name out as you shook her shoulder harder. She grumbled, stretching her arms up towards the roof of the car. You moved your hand from her shoulder, sitting back in the driver's seat. But she didn't even wake up! She just changed her position from her arms behind her head to being crossed, then began to snore again. You groaned, poking her hard in the cheek. "C'mon sleepyhead, we're here!" You squeezed her 'nose,' causing her to let out a deep growl, her eyes opening slowly. You quickly took your hand away from her, your face hot.

"What do you want, human?" Jasper asked groggily, her voice deeper from sleep as she yawned and stretched.

"W-We're here." Jasper looked out the windshield, her mouth falling open slightly at the view before her. You chuckled quietly, unlocking the car doors. "You've seen better though, huh?" Jasper's cheeks turned scarlet for a moment as she turned her head away from you.

"Y-Yeah...of course, I have!" You giggled, getting out of the car.

"C'mon CJ, we've got a long way up to go." You walked around to the back of the car, opening the door on the left side. You grabbed the shopping bags out, closing the door. Jasper had just begun to get out of the car, a look of astonishment still on her face. Her eyes darted around the beautiful city. She glanced at the sky, the skyscrapers, the many cars, and the various people walking around under the moonlight. You smiled softly, popping the trunk of your vehicle. "CJ," you called, waving your hand to coax her over. "Come and get my suitcase, and I'll hold your bags." She nodded, pulling your suitcase from the trunk with ease. She closed the lid down, looking down at you for further instruction. You clicked the button on your keys to lock your car, the quiet chirp of the alarm echoing through the empty parking garage. "Okay, let's go." You led the way through the garage, your and Jasper's feet quietly echoing against the concrete ground. Once you saw the elevator, you turned to glance at Jasper, who was staring quietly at the dark blue sky. You giggled softly, turning to face forward again. "Okay, CJ, press the button on the top with the arrow pointing up." Jasper stepped in front of you, doing as told, jumping slightly when the elevator dinged. You walked into the steel enclosure, your gem counterpart following close behind you. "Okay, now, press either button with a number. Doesn't really matter which one." Jasper looked at you strangely and then shrugged, pressing the button labeled '2'. The doors to the elevator closed and began to ascend. A short time later, the doors reopened, revealing a well-lit mall area. There were plenty of stores, restaurants, kiosks, and people crowding around the place. There was a dull murmur of voices, the sounds of sizzling from the food court, the opening of cash registers, and the rustling of various bags and papers. You glanced at Jasper again, and the look on her face showed complete and utter disgust. You frowned, nudging her side with your elbow. "Hey, what's with the face?"

"Humans are disgusting creatures. I don't see why the lot of you still exist. You have no purpose. This planet has no purpose by itself. Look at them! Stuffing...food into their faces. Ugh..." You were a little hurt by her first comment about your existence, but you shook it off and gave an awkward chuckle.
