Chapter 33: Denial

    "I honestly wish I could have seen this place earlier", you said with a soft smile, looking up at Jasper. She raised an eyebrow at you, her arms resting behind her head as she walked beside you.
    "Why do you say that?" You giggled, walking backward in front of her large form.
    "This is where you were made! Besides that, the scenery is beautiful. I love the entire color scheme of the place", you said softly, looking around the Beta Kindergarten. The sun was shining high in the sky, making the red sandstone around you look more vibrant than ever. Your (e/c) eyes turned back to Jasper, marveling quietly at how her amber orbs glowed in the sunlight as she stared back at you. She chuckled, grabbing your waist before picking you up. You laughed when she dipped her head down into the crook of your neck, her cool breath tickling you.
    "You're beautiful..." You blushed softly, burying your hands into the mane of white hair on her head. "And I love you." You gasped quietly, looking back at the gem that was carrying you.
    "Jasper, did you just..." She grinned at you, squeezing you tight as she pressed her lips to yours. You smiled brightly into the kiss, giggling again when she hoisted you up onto her shoulder.
    "Well, here we are." You looked over at Jasper's exit hole, swinging your legs slightly. The gem placed you inside of the massive area, standing back and placing her hands on her hips. She smiled warmly at you, her hair swaying softly in the breeze that passed by.
    "What", you asked laughing, crossing your arms.
    "You're so small", she said with a chuckle, approaching you again.
    "No, you're just really big", you said with an eye roll. Jasper chuckled, leaning into the hole in the wall. She glanced around her exit hole, a small smile playing against her lips. "Get in here. I want to see something." Jasper raised an eyebrow at you but obliged nonetheless. She climbed into the hole with little effort, placing you in front of her so you wouldn't be crushed.
"It's a lot tighter in here than I remember."
    "Maybe because you aren't posing the way you were when you first emerged", you said with a shrug.
     "Good eye, Shortcake", the gem said before positioning her arms in the right place. Your eyes traveled over her form slowly, admiring every single aspect of her body. The way the muscles in her arms rolled under her skin with even the slightest movement. The way her uniform hugged her body, accentuating the curves that she had. The way her off-white hair cascaded down her shoulders and back in waves, framing her face perfectly. And her gem — the way her gem glinted in the afternoon sun was mesmerizing. "You're staring, baby." You jumped slightly at the sound of Jasper's voice, a blush spreading across your (s/c-t) cheeks as she laughed.
    "You seriously came out flexing", you said mockingly, running your hands along the quartz's abdomen.
    "Not my fault I knew I was the shit", she said smugly, smirking down at you. You pouted, pinching her thigh. She laughed, hopping out of the hole with you in tow. You screamed as she jumped down, holding you in her arms bridal style. "Calm down. I won't drop —"
    "Ouch...", you said, rubbing your back. You had hit the ground harshly after Jasper had dropped you. That's gonna leave a bruise... "So much for not dropping me", you said with a chuckle. "Jasper?" You looked over at the gem, seeing that she was on her hands and knees, groaning softly. "Jasper!" You ran over to the quartz but it seemed like she was just getting farther and farther away from you. You soon were forced to stop running because of the lack of oxygen reaching your lungs. You placed your hands on your knees to catch your breath, looking up at the gem. You gasped in horror, seeing teal blue spikes and spots crawl up her body. She looked up at you, pain evident in her amber eyes. You were about to try and start running to her again, but your legs wouldn't move. You tried calling out to her, but your voice couldn't be heard. Your ears began ringing, gradually getting louder, making you cover them and squeeze your eyes shut to get some kind of relief. Then it suddenly stopped. You opened your eyes, your breathing labored as you looked up at the orange quartz. A huge metal spike was lodged through her chest, her face contorted in pain. You collapsed to your knees, tears streaming down your face. You held yourself, realizing that there was a hole in your abdomen, about the same circumference as the spike through Jasper's chest.
    "(Y-Y/n)...hel-p...me", Jasper managed to wheeze out. She stretched her arm out towards you, her other hand gripping the ground under her. You began to crawl to her, reaching one of your arms out as well.
    "Hold on! Just let me —" Before you could even finish your sentence, Jasper poofed, the sound of her gem clinking against the ground and echoing against the rocks surrounding you. "No...no!"
