I sighed heavily, crossing my arms loosely as I looked out over the Beta Kindergarten. My temporary new home. The sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon, light peeking over the mountains in the distance. I stared at it blankly, my face void of emotion. My white hair was tied back in a messy bun, some of the loose locks framing my face in waves. I miss her... It had only been a few days since I had seen (y/n), but my heart ached to be around her again. I felt as though I was slowly losing the humanity she had instilled in me over the few months I had known her. She had a tremendous effect on me — the way I did things, the way I thought; it was ridiculous. I groaned, digging my claws into my bare arms. My amber eyes glanced over my birthplace, a frown crawling over my lips at the sheer emptiness. Sure, there were corrupted gems in those holes now, but they weren't the best at holding a conversation. Being around them for an extensive amount of time almost drove me crazy. They were disgusting. The longer I was around them, the more I hated them. Sitting on top of the highest rock formation in the Kindergarten and overlooking everything was the only way I could feel a little peace on this miserable hunk of rock called Earth. I was beginning to hate the planet all over again too. Being around (y/n) truly did unlock another side of me. On top of all of that, I didn't even have my phone anymore to keep myself occupied. Every day I had been here, boredom clouded around me like a thick fog. Sometimes I'd let one of the quicker corrupted gems out of their cage for a while and chase them down again to pass the time. In other instances, I'd let out one of the calmer ones and sit there with it like I would with Storm. It was embarrassing, charitably speaking, but there wasn't anyone here to judge me anyway. I huffed, hopping down from my standing point once the yellow sphere of the sun could be seen completely clear in the sky. My arms stayed crossed; my claws and bicep slightly bloody from my involuntary actions from earlier. I put one of my fingers in my mouth, crisscrossing my legs after sitting on the ground in the middle of my caged up army. Some of them growled lowly at the sight of me, making me chuckle as I continued to clean my fingers. "Now...we wait. Maybe the Crystal Gems will even drop by, and I'll get to have some fun for a change."
(Y/n)'s POV
Two weeks. It had almost been two weeks since you had seen Jasper. The house felt empty without her, but at least you had Storm. The kitten had done a great job at keeping you company, but you could tell she missed the quartz soldier. Some nights you'd catch her sitting on the windowsill in Jasper's room or either in front of the screen door, waiting. The Crystal Gems didn't seem too stressed about not knowing of the soldier's whereabouts, except for Amethyst. She was practically obsessed with the other quartz, but you couldn't blame her. Jasper had beaten her pretty bad, so it was only natural that she'd want to prove herself to the other gem. You could even tell that she was giving it her all when sparring with Bismuth and the others last week. You smiled at the thought of the rainbow-haired gem, sighing softly.
