Mini A/N: So I've been thinking y'all 🤔 Should I spoil you with at least 3-5 smut scenes throughout this story in its entirety? (You've already gotten one.) Or! Should I just keep it PG and throw some seggsy stuff in from time to time like below? Let me know babes! Enjoy the chapter!

You sighed deeply after stepping out of the Roaming Eye and onto the warm sand of Beach City. You stretched, extending your arms high above your head. "Oh, good old, natural sand," Greg groaned after stepping out of the ship. "That fancy zoo sand was too fine for me." You giggled at his comment, resting your hands on your head as you saw Connie run out of Steven's front door and down the stairs.
"Hey! Steven," she shouted, waving at him from up on the hill.
"Connie," the teenage boy yelled back as his best friend ran to him, giggling. You smiled at the two of them, letting out a loud 'oof' as you were tackled.
"Holy shit, Sarge," you wheezed, resting your hands on his back. "You might still be a puppy, but you're a big dog! You can't jump on me like that, bud." Your puppy whined as his tail wagged behind him uncontrollably, seeming to be unable to contain his excitement. You laughed as he pushed you down more with his paws, licking your face. "Okay, okay! I missed you too! Now get off of me!" He obeyed, allowing you to stand up and dust yourself off, but he continued to circle your legs, sniffing and whining.
"Did anything happen while we were gone?" you heard Steven ask from beside you.
"Uhh...Lion and Sarge behaved themselves. I restocked all the cereal and washed all the towels," Connie answered, leaving a proud-looking Pearl nodding.
"Sounds like everything went well," Steven said.
"Well...there was a little trouble."
"Like what," you asked the young girl curiously, grabbing ahold of Sarge's collar so he would stay still. He finally sat down between your legs, and you tried to move him, but he insisted on being under your loincloth. "Pervert," you mumbled, smacking his face. He smiled at you, panting.
"When I got that call from you, I could tell you had a lot going on. It was a big job for one person, but I felt up to the challenge. I made my way over to your house. And that's when I realized, I wasn't alone." Steven gasped, covering his mouth.
"What happened," he asked, worried.
"Peridot and Lapis. They were in your bathroom," Connie laughed. "According to Peridot, she was showing her old room to Lapis."
"That sounds like Peri, alright," Amethyst said with a chuckle, sitting in the sand.
"Yeah," Connie laughed, "but after the 'bathroom situation,' we sat down and talked about how we were going to protect Beach City. After a little clearing up, of course. Since Garnet told Peridot and Lapis to protect Beach City, they figured they didn't need me even though you gave me the same mission, Steven."
"Sorry about that," Garnet said, crossing her arms over her chest.
"No, no! It's fine! We agreed eventually. Peridot voiced the idea of us all playing the roles of the Crystal Gems. Me as Steven, Lapis as Amethyst, Peridot as Garnet, and Pumpkin as Pearl." Amethyst howled with laughter, falling into the sand.
"Oh wow, P! They assigned Pumpkin your position!" You snorted, covering your mouth and clearing your throat as Pearl glared at you.
"And Peridot assigned herself my position," Garnet said with a smirk.
"She said that she was 'best suited to being the boss," Connie said with a giggle as she sat down in the sand in front of Steven. "She even, later on, said that no one bosses around Garnet and got kind of upset when Lapis tried to take the role."
"Looks like Peridot has a little crush on you, Garnet," you said with a laugh, nudging the fusion. She adjusted her visors with a hum, a smile on her face.
"So what did you guys do all the time we were gone," Amethyst asked, looking over at Connie.
"We mainly took care of the carwash. Buck was the first to come there, which is how we started in the first place. Someone had trashed Mayor Dewey's van, so Peridot lifted it in the air with her powers, and Lapis washed it off using her own. Then Pumpkin and I dried the van with this huge towel, and Buck even paid me!"
"Whoa! That's so cool," Steven said, leaning forward. "What happened next?
"Well, after such a rocky start, it finally seemed like the New Crystal Gems were coming together. Or were we," Connie said, narrowing her eyes. Steven gasped again, covering his mouth. You chuckled, absentmindedly petting Sarge as you turned back to Connie to continue listening to her story. "Let's take a walk while I finish the story," she said, standing up and brushing herself off. "Come on, everyone!" You, Amethyst, and Steven stood up, beginning to follow Connie with Greg, Garnet, and Pearl in tow. Sarge, of course, followed closely beside you, his tail hitting your calf as he walked. "So, the next day, I was woken up by the sound of cars honking. I ran downstairs to get Lapis and Peridot, and we all made our way towards the noise. Which happened to be back at the car wash," Connie said, pointing at the building in the distance. "There were a lot of people there this time, asking for an encore performance. Peridot started as usual, and then Lapis did her water stuff, but Peridot told her to crack some jokes to be more like Amethyst. So Lapis sprayed water in everyone's faces."
"Oh no...," Pearl said softly.
Amethyst snorted, "That is pretty funny."
"I told Lapis that I didn't think it was funny, and Buck asked Peridot to put the car down, and she seemed to get upset. She probably thought he was trying to rush her, and she said that everyone would get a turn and picked up the next car, but the guy was still inside of it," Connie exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air. "And that's when Lapis grabbed the car with a water hand to play as 'the Garnet' and her and Peridot started fighting. I tried to get them to stop, and I did, but they didn't like my performance as you, Steven," Connie said with a light laugh, pushing some of her hair behind her ear. Steven laughed, bumping his shoulder with her as they walked. "The wash...was a wash. And so were the New Crystal Gems." Connie then stopped at the car wash, turning to Greg. "I'm sorry we messed up your car wash, Mr. Universe..."
"You sure you wrecked anything? The car wash looks good as new," Steven said, a hand on his chin.
"Well...except we couldn't repair the sign," the young girl said, pointing to the building.
"Well, about time I got a new one. Guess I'll give my neon guy a call," Greg said, looking down at Connie.
"Well, don't get out your checkbook yet. Bring it on out," she shouted, turning around and waving her hand. You turned to where she was looking, seeing Lapis and Peridot bring out a huge sign to replace the one they had destroyed. You laughed softly, noticing that Greg's torso was the focus of the new sign.
"Introducing, a new sign! For your business," Peridot said after putting it down. "We made it ourselves. Look at it, it's great!"
"I think I love it," Greg said proudly.
"Really?" Connie asked.
"That old sign was, okay, but this one's got personality!"
"Well, it wasn't much of a mission, but I guess we handled that alright," Connie said, turning to Steven.
"I knew you would," Steven replied, smiling brightly.
"Does that mean we can do a victory pose?" Peridot asked excitedly, looking up at Lapis.
"Okay," the blue gem said, giving in. You laughed as Connie, Lapis, Peridot, and Pumpkin all shouted, "Go...Crystal Temps," while doing individual, unique poses.
"Well, that's enough posing for one day," Pearl said with a light laugh, clapping her hands together. "We should get this sign put up for Greg, while the rest of you, meaning (y/n), Connie, and Steven, go on home."
"Right," Garnet agreed, nodding. "Steven and (y/n), you two should get some rest, and get changed as well."
"What about me," Greg asked, chuckling.
"Well, you have to stay to make sure the sign is right! It's your business, after all. You wouldn't want it to look un-put together, right?" Pearl asked. Greg shook his head, laughing softly.
"Alright, alright, I'll stay. See you later, schtu-ball."
"Bye, Dad," Steven called, walking back down the sidewalk with Connie by his side.
"I'll see you lot later," you said with a smile and a wave.
