morning after the siblings' hang out, jihae woke up because of sizzling sounds coming from the kitchen indicating someone was cooking.

she went downstairs, seeing jungkook and soyeon sitting down in the dining room, still looking sleepy.

"morning, mom." she greeted with heavy eyelids.

"good morning, sweetie. take a seat. breakfast's almost ready." the older woman cooking informed.

jihae did as she was told and sat beside soyeon. "what's cooking?"

"just ask what's for breakfast, you dork." her sister replied.

"classic bacon and eggs prepared by our beautiful mother." jungkook said, emphasizing the compliment.

their mother chuckled. "what do you need?"

the eldest son gasped. "can't i just say how gorgeous you look today?" that made the others snort.

"do you have somewhere to go?" mrs. jeon asks straightforwardly.

that was when jungkook gave out a sheepish bunny smile that only meant yes. "the boys and i are gonna have football practice, so i kinda need to get going after eating."

suddenly, footsteps could be heard approaching the dining room. "again with the sports thing." their dad groaned.

the atmosphere immediately changed. jungkook's teasing face changed to a poker one while the girls frowned.

"honey. let's settle down so jungkook won't be late."

"kook, it's not really too late to back out this entire thing." the older man claimed. "a year or two behind is never-"

"i'm pursuing athletics, dad." his dad kept quiet after a disappointed sigh.

after an awkward silence, jihae spoke up. "kookie, i was thinking about joining the volleyball club."

ah, yes. jihae loved to play volleyball as a hobby. of course, jungkook was better. it's just how they bond sometimes. and that's not the only thing they're good at. the jeons were known to be good at everything and be extremely competitive. they know how to sing, dance, rap, act, study and many more things they would like to learn.

"that's great, jihae. a lot of sophomores are joining this year." the eldest child exclaimed. "how 'bout you, soyeon?"

"i'm good. rather be cheering for you both." she said. "good luck, though."

soon, breakfast was over and jungkook had to leave for practice. he waved goodbye to his family and went.

"any plans today, soyeon?" jihae asks her sister, hoping she was free but was soon disappointed.

"sorry, ji. i have this project to do that's due next week." she sighed. "i have to go later as well."

the youngest sighed. she could call her two best friends but she knows they both have things to do. wooyoung was on a trip with his parents, while yunho was doing an experiment for a thesis.
