Torpor's End

The waiting game is one no one wins;
why do you continue to play?
Are you satisfied with how things have been,
or want someone to answer the words you pray?

If none reply to your calls
will you keep laying on the floor
wallowing in stagnation, sprawled,
until someone opens a door?

It costs rising to your feet to begin;
what if the exit opens both ways?
Keep moving, even an inch,
push out into the fray.

Out here in life's brawl
everyone will want more.
If you are forced to crawl
recall what you're reaching for.
