Essence of Seasons

Spring blossoms life once more
casting myriad perfumes to the wind,
to bring the husbands of honey
visiting asking for sugar.

The solstice bears the scent of summer:
chlorine filling noses
to be drowned by the sizzling
of meats and vegetables.

As the sun retreats its warmth
fall brings the harvest spices
sprinkled into brewed beverages
among the fire-faded leaves.

Frost bites the flesh
as white glazes the land.
The pure powder warring
with salted roads.
