With Fred in the picture, I could finally figure out how to pay for a lawyer. That way, I could get the divorce and be free from Jeff once and for all. Fred and I talked and decided to take out a title loan on my car to pay for the lawyer. It worked, I finally got enough to pay for the divorce. I was so happy; I went on lunch break and gave the lawyer the money to start the process.

They served Jeff while he was in jail; which started an avalanche of harassing me. He called at least fifty times a day, if not more. He wrote me a ton of letters, and even had his dad call me. I couldn't get free from him - even with him in jail. I filed complaints with the police, my lawyer tried helping me; but nothing worked. Our court date was not set until December 10th, Jeff was set to get out of jail on June 30th. Which meant I had to deal with the possibility of him harassing me once he got out.

He got out the day he was supposed to and several days went by with no sight of him. I thought, 'thank God he's going to leave me alone'. However, that wasn't the case at all. He started calling me non-stop, continuously riding by the house, and asking my friends about me. I had to get the police involved again. They put him on a restraining order and a no trespassing order to make him stay away. I quickly found out that a restraining order was nothing more than a piece of paper. I couldn't wait for December 10th to get here!

The day finally came, and it was a beautiful day. I went to court and had Amy with me, she was my witness to how much he was harassing me. When we got there, we seen that he had his drugged-out brother Ronnie with him. Come to find out, he had come to try and tell lies on me, just to try and make Jeff look good. My lawyer got just Jeff and I in a room, and told him if he gave up visitation rights, we wouldn't seek child support. Without hesitation, he agreed to give up his rights to Ethan. That was fine with me, because Ethan didn't know him anyway. He got locked up when Ethan was only 9 months old, and now he was almost two years old. The only man he had ever been around was Fred, and that's who he called daddy.

It didn't take long and court was over. I finally done it. I was finally divorced! I was so happy. Fred and I decided to go to the beach to celebrate. My mom and dad watched the kids, and we left for the beach. We had an amazing time, just the two of us. Amazingly after the divorce, Jeff left me alone. I was finally free from him, and able to live life without so much worry. Fred and I got back from the beach on Sunday. Then on Monday, he took me out to eat at Outback Steakhouse in Greenwood. I got up to use the restroom after eating; and when I went to sit back down a waitress brought me a slice of cheesecake. I just assumed Fred wanted to share a piece, but when I looked down there was a ring sitting on top of the cheesecake. That's when Fred looked at me and asked me to marry him. We had been together for nine months, and my divorce had been final for only four days when he asked me, but I didn't care. I said yes, and couldn't wait to tell everyone!
