Ellowyn's POV-
"Class 1-A, class 1-A." I repeat over and over again under my breath so that I might remember it. Even though I'm excited to be starting my second year of high school at UA, my new school is huge, and it's only with the help of a very loud teacher who was in the lobby that I even had a clue of where to go. He gave me some simple directions and a map from the front office, just in case I got lost again, which is very likely. Anyways, I should be close now that I'm in the hero department. I look around and smile once I finally find my classroom. I go up to the door and make sure to open it as quietly as possible since I'm a few minutes late. Of course, this doesn't make a difference; everyone turns their head and looks at me anyways.I step inside and shut the door behind me and there is a tiny moment of awkwardness before the tired looking teacher at the front of the class says, "I'm the pro-hero Erasure, but since I'm your teacher, you can call me Mr. Aizawa. Everyone, this is Ellowyn Sallow. She'll be joining us this year since Hagakure transferred out when she moved and due to that, our class in short by one person. Ms. Sallow, you can take that empty seat right at the front. Once I get the training room key, we'll start class." He leaves the class as I walk towards my seat. I notice a blonde spiky-haired boy sending me a red-eyed glare as I sit down and already almost everyone is coming up to me.
"Hi, I'm Tenya Iida. I'm class 1-A's class president." A tall boy wearing glasses says to me. After him, each person in the class takes turns introducing themselves and I already know that I definitely will forget most of their names.
"It's nice to meet all of you. I guess you guys already know that I'm Ellowyn Sallow."
Suddenly I hear a voice from behind me say, "Wait, Ellie?" I turn to see a certain half n' half boy sitting at the back of the classroom with a scar covering his face that wasn't there the last time I saw him.
"Well, well. I should've expected to see the great Shouto Todoroki here."
"Real question is, what are you doing here?"
I shrug. "Things have changed since the last time I saw you."
"Wait," Uraraka says, "You guys know each other?"
I nod. "Yup. We went to school together before I moved to America."
Our conversation is interrupted as Mr. Aizawa enters the room. "Come on everyone. Put on your gym clothes and then meet me in the training room."
...
Ten minutes later, the entire class stands before our exhausted teacher as he explains what he has planned for the day. "Everyone but Sallow has been through this type of test before but just to explain it again, it's essentially a quirk test. Show me how you use your quirk to get past each of these tests. I expect to see improvement since last year." After that small speech, we jump right into it. We start with the fifty-meter dash, which I easily get through. With my power being umbrakinesis, also known as the manipulation and creation of darkness, I simply use the shadows to teleport across the track. The only person I didn't beat was Iida, It's impressive how he is even faster than darkness itself. After I use my quirk, I realize I've gained some curious glances from Todo, which means he's definitely going to be asking me questions I don't feel like answering later. I don't really have time to think about that though because we're already moving onto the next test, which is the grip strength test. Since my quirk doesn't really affect my strength and I am a rather small and unathletic person standing at only five feet tall and weighing only 100 pounds, I don't score very high at all. Thankfully, in the next test, which is the standing long jump, I'm able to use the shadows to push me through the air and I make it across the sandbox. Next, we do the repeated side steps and I do my best to use my quirk to assist me in moving between the lines but I've never been very good at it. After that, we do the ball throw and I use my quirk to propel the ball forward but I don't do well compared to the other more power-based quirks. In the distance run that comes next, I use my quirk just like I did with the first test. In the last two tests, the seated toe-touch and the sit-ups, I can't use my quirk and again, I've never been athletically talented so I do not that great. Finally, everyone is catching their breath as Mr. Aizawa compiles the ranking list. When he finishes it, we all bolt over to it to see where we landed. I sigh in relief to see that I'm not in last place. Thankfully, I did okay and placed eleventh. I know I have so much work to do to be able to catch up with the rest of the class on both quirk training and physical training, but it's a relief to know I am already making progress. Meanwhile, the weird purple pervert who did get last place is crying while the Pikachu guy tries to calm him down. "Class is dismissed for today. If you have any questions about your placement, don't come to me. Right now it's time for my nap but I'll be emailing each and every one of you detailed assessments later so just read that later." Just as he is about to leave he stops. "Oh, Todoroki, could you show Sallow where her room is? It's right across the hall from yours." Todoroki nods and beckons for me to follow him as Aizawa leaves. As we walk out of the school and towards the dorms, Todoroki turns sharply and grabs me by my arm, pulling me into a more secluded alley.
