I couldn't help but giggle when I see Lexa's eyes widen at the sight infront of her, the fair was on and I had been planning to take her to it for ages but I was only allowed out of Raven and Octavia's supervision tonight.
It's been 2 weeks since I was released from the hospital, I was there for a month and 1 week (including while I was in a coma) and then put on bed rest, tonight was the first night Raven and Octavia have even let me out of their sights since the accident.
I still had a little bit of a limp but the doctor said it'll go away with time and Lexa's arm is still bandaged up, we both had a few fading bruises and nightmares about the accident if we aren't in the same bed as each other but that was fixable since Lexa practically lives with me but other then that we were fine.
Tonight the fair was on so I decided that I would take Lexa to it, get her mind off of the crash and let her have fun, I know she blames herself for the accident and I've been doing my best to convince her it's not her fault. Unfortunately the police still haven't found the idiot who drove into us, they believe they sped away and dumped the car, when I get my hands on them.....
"Come on, come on!" Lexa pulls me from my thoughts about how I could kill them in 101 painful ways, her smile making my heart race like usual, she was jumping up and down as her beautiful emerald eyes looked around in wonder, she looked like a little kid on Christmas.
"Ok, ok, come on baby" I grab her hand and lead her in, she points out all the rides she wants to go on before making a beeline to the cotton candy stand, she was such a kid sometimes.
With our hands still clasped together we walk around the crowded fair ground, Lexa's practically skipping by now with cotton candy around her mouth, I laugh as I pull her to a stop to wipe it off.
"Your such a kid sometimes Lex" I say fondly at my girlfriend as I wipe off the candy, she humms with a smile.
"Well when you bring me to the fricken theme park I'm bound to be excited. How are you not jumping around right now?" She asks with a huge grin on her now clean face.
I shake my head fondly at her, "Because, I'm too busy watching the love of my life jumping around for me" Lexa blushes as she rolls her eyes.
"Sap"
I smile as I pull her into a walk again, "Besides, you have enough excitement for both of us, someone has to be the responsible one" I say as I pull her over the chair swings.
"How can you be the responsible one, your a psychopath" Lexa laughs, I pole my tongue out at her as we get in line.
"I prefer creative" I tease, Lexa laughs as I wrap my arm around her waist as we wait.
Once we finally got to our shot we got a two seater green chair, still holding hands, I could feel my palms sweat and anxiety swirl in my stomach as I trace the outline of the ring in my front pocket.
"You ok beautiful?" Lexa asks, I smile at her with a nod as the swing ride starts.
Lexa giggles with that smile of hers that I love, I couldn't keep my eyes off of her as we swung around, the sun was setting now, it's golden rays hitting Lexa's face as the sky fades from blue to pinks and purples.
I reach in my pocket and hold the ring in my hand with a firm grip, "Lexa" I say quietly, I don't know how she heard me but she did and looked her at me.
I hold the ring between my fingers and I can see the panic on her eyes, "Don't worry, it's a promise ring" I reassure her, I knew we loved each other dearly but we both weren't ready for marriage yet, we were still in college and had just gotten out of an traumatic accident, Lexa sighs in relief.
"But, I promise you Alexandria Woods, that one day, I will be on one knee with an engagement ring in my hands and asking you to marry me" I can see tears fall from her eyes, "I love you Lexa, your it for me..." I mumble as I wipe away her tears, "So Lexa, will you take this promise ring as a sign of my love and devotion to you?" I ask.
"Yes! Yes! Obviously!" She smiles the biggest smile I've ever seen, I slip the ring on her left ring finger before she pulls me in for a passionate kiss.
"I love you so much Clarke Praimheda-Griffin" Lexa mumbles against my lips, I could feel her smile against mine.
"I love you too Alexandria Woods..."
