Raziel glared stonily at his brother while Michael met his glare head-on, seemingly unphased.
" You know it is required brother. If you got past your human ego side you will realise that this is the only logical way to gain the information we seek without hurting anyone."
Raziel sighed softly before looking outside at the velvet night. The sound of the nearby ocean provided a subtle ambiance amidst the sound of pimped out cars, late-night diners and not so subtle road rage that floated up from the bustling Sydney streets below them.
" What's a..."
" Human, patience."
Jade snapped out as Jene shoved her and met her glare with one of his own.
" It is something Raziel will need to explain Ami."
Jene explained kindly as he extracted his phone from his jeans pocket and started fiddling with something on the screen.
" Indeed, I suppose I should explain. "
Raziel stated as he drew his attention back to the room. His unnerving golden eyes settled on Ami as he inhaled deeply.
" As you know Ami, I am Raziel...the Archangel of Divine Knowledge. I have the ability to access any information I desire about our cosmos at any time through the energetic vibrations I am able to pick up on and translate. In some circumstances, I can perform what is known as a mind-meld. This means I can tune into sentient beings' minds and access....well I can access the data there."
Raziel finished a bit awkwardly as he waited for the weight of his words to sink in.
Barely a moment went by before Ami's eyes widened in shock as she stared at Raziel.
" You can read minds?"
She whispered out.
" I knew you could read auras and energy...I didn't realise that with our abilities we could read minds as well."
" Ami, I do not believe you can read minds. You are a psychic human which means you have the ability to access your 6th sense and therefore see beyond the physical realm of this world. As an Archangel...I tend to have a certain range of gifts...including the ability to read minds. However, only when they give permission or if it is to save a life. In this case, it's a necessity as her life may be in danger. We do not know what kind of angel Gabi is and therefore we do not know how to treat her or if this coma she is in is normal."
Ami nodded at this, rubbing her eyes wearily.
" Look, it's been a long day and I really don't have the energy to deal with this right now. I'm just going to crash in one of the spare rooms if that's alright. Goodnight."
She yawned out as she shuffled down the dark hallway leading towards the bedrooms and disappeared, leaving a room full of silent angels in her wake.
" Well, I guess I better get started. Michael be on standby in case anything goes wrong. If you need to pull me out of her mind simply fire energy at our head chakras, carefully though okay. I may be able to bounce back pretty quickly but she may not."
With a roll of his shoulders, Raziel got up from the kitchen table and went to kneel beside the woman lying on the couch. Cradling her head delicately between his hands he exhaled and closed his eyes. Immediately, Michael stood up in preparation as a silver bubble with a shimmering metallic sheen enclosed both Raziel and Gabi.
" It's okay, this is normal. However, we must be prepared for anything. Angels, open your extra vision we need to keep a constant eye on their energy levels and chakras."
Michael ordered, his leadership ringing true as he took up an informal soldier stance as he focused on his brother.
The weighted silence stretched on for what seemed to hours as the metallic bubble sheathed Raziel and Gabi from the other angel's eyes. The only proof they had that everything was still stable was the brilliant glow of Raziel's aura and the slowly brightening shade of Gabi's. Just as Jene moved to go make a batch of coffee did Raziel appear from the bubble looking gobsmacked with the very awake and amused looked red-headed woman standing upright next to him.
Raziel rubbed his face lazily as he moved to sit down on the couch.
" Jene, you might want to get that coffee on."
He suggested wearily, spurring Jene to quickly head into the kitchen with a look of confusion etched into his features. Jade and Michael both stepped forward, their warrior instincts on high alert as they both sat close to Raziel and shrewdly watched the young woman who had sat down on the couch next to him.
" Alright, Gabi...Gabriel. Why don't you catch us up."
Raziel stated calmly as he gestured around the living space.
" I think we are going to need some sustenance."
Jade declared to the silent room as she physically hurried out of the room after her twin.
