The small party had all gathered in the living room as they prepared to depart on their current mission. Ami and Raziel had decided to act as a base in their Sydney apartment and find Gabriel's angeling protector while Gabriel, Michael, and the angeling twins were going to track down Samael to firstly rescue the unawakened Azrael from the Fallen Archangel's clutches and to secondly gather information on Lucifer's movements and plan.

After seeing the sickly state of Azrael on the news all the Archangels had expressed concern regarding their sibling. The once vivacious and confident angel had seemed withdrawn and miserable on the news report. While none of them thought Lucifer would actually harm Azrael they had no doubt that their fallen brother was preventing Azrael from awakening into his divine self...it was clearly physically damaging him just as it had done with Raziel. They needed to act quickly for not only Azrael's sake but humanity's as well. Lucifer could never be trusted as a leader of conflict management for Earth's leading peace mission. They were on the clock...and that clock was speeding up.

Ami fretted over the departing angel's backpacks for the final time as she checked their abundance of food provisions, clothes, and toiletries. The angels were going to travel based on the news reports that advertised Samael's location and camp out in various places. Despite the erratic nature of their mission, fortunately, Gabriel could communicate across both time and space which sorted that issue out.

At Michael's insistence, Ami stopped fussing and instead stood back and observed as the angels extended their wings as they prepared for flight. The glittering gold and silver filaments that traced the angel's wings slowly faded from sight as Michael used his abilities to shield the leaving party from existence.

With a subtle wave and a curt nod, Raziel watched his siblings and a couple of angelings leave the tiny balcony and meld into the still-dark morning. The silent glimmering blanket of fading stars guiding their way into the slightest band of indigo that had just began to peer over the expansive ocean.

After a few minutes of simply watching the lightening horizon, Raziel turned towards Ami with a small but kind smile on his face.

" Now that we have sent the landing party off let's get the brains to work."

With a chuckle Ami watched Raziel enter the apartment as her attention switched back to the horizon. The first few rays of muted pastel light were beginning to reflect off the choppy surface of the ocean as the fading tapestry of stars above refracted against the twinkling sea.

As she inhaled the salty crisp air Ami finally allowed her mind to truly relax in what felt like the first time in weeks. While she knew they meant well...despite her psychic abilities and empath nature the realisation that she had been spending time with some of the most powerful beings in existence for an extended period of time had clearly taken a toll on her human side. While her 6th sense was comfortable with the presence of the divine beings her egotistical human side was clearly struggling. For the first time in a long time, Ami allowed herself to actually process what was happening.

As she sank down into one of the chairs dotting the balcony the tears that always came when she felt overwhelmed spilled out in a constant flow, the sum of weeks worth of pent up emotion. She didn't know how long she sat there crying but after awhile she no longer felt overwhelmed. The burning red sun was just beginning to stretch above the horizon as a sense of peace settled within her. Yes, she was a psychic. Yes, she was human...and yes she had been chosen by a team of Archangels and angelings to help find other unawakened Archangels and to save humanity. It was certainly going to be an interesting year.
