I woke up late with sore muscles from last night.
I yawned and got up slowly before throwing on some random clothes.
I didn't see any sign of Evans in the common room, not even a book, piece of parchment, quill or anything else was out of place.
I shrugged and walked out of the common room and towards the Great Hall.
"Morning." I greeted Hayes, Remus, Frank, Alice and Peter.
"Morning James." And. "Morning Potter." Was the response.
"Did you see Lily at all?" Hayes blurted, a desperate look in her eyes.
"Nah. Just woke up pretty much." I said, stretching my muscles.
"Oh." She said softly, staring at the breakfast in front of her.
"Don't worry Hayes." I said.
"You don't know what you're on about Potter." She said.
"Well tell me then."
"Lily's going to kill me even more... Lily has always had trust issues, and that's putting it delicately believe me, I don't know why she chose to trust us that day, perhaps I'll never know. Lily's never been soft, don't know if she ever will, her heart is closely guarded and she doesn't tell anyone what's bothering her, no matter what. It's like this unbreakable deal she has with herself. There are 5 other rules Lily always plays by and never, ever, breaks:
"1) Never cry.
"2) Never show any sign of weakness.
"3) Never let anyone get to you.
"4) Heart must never make an appearance in your life.
"5) Acting good so no one knows the turmoil going on inside is a must." Hayes said sadly.
"Those are some pretty tough rules. Don't think I could ever do that." I whistled lowly.
"Yep. I tried once. I didn't last half a minute." Alice laughed, her voice had a slightly dark quality to it as well.
"I think it requires so much hate that you can't feel anymore, or you've pushed all emotions, other than hate and anger, into the back of your mind so they no longer matter or have a part in your life. I can't imagine living like that, even though Lily has been openly doing it since the start of fifth year." Hayes sighed.
"Oh look! It's Abandoned Evans!" Someone cackled.
All our heads turned to see Evans storming towards the offender with a sneer on her face.
"Now you listen here Avery, and you listen good. I may have been abandoned but that doesn't mean anything less of me." Evans sneered, picking the sixth year up by his collar.
"Your parents didn't want you because you were a Mud-blood." He smirked.
"I don't give a shit Avery! I could still fucking kick your arse into next millennium."
"Prove it." He smirked.
"Fine. I'll even give you an advantage. You, can use your wand, while I, cannot."
"It's your funeral Evans. Now put me down." He laughed darkly.
Evans threw him onto the table and turned her back before walking about ten metres away from him, her back still turned.
I saw Avery grin and pick up his wand lazily.
"Diffindo!" Avery yelled.
The curse shot towards Evans, who didn't move until the last second, where she dodged it and turned around, a smirk planted on her face.
